I visited the Stewart page at his music publisher, http://www.schirmer.com/Default.aspx?Ta ... _2872=3115
I clicked on the events tab and saw the Stewart's Gene Pool will be performed November 5, 2009 in the Netherlands by Tatiana Koleva.
Looking up Tatiana Koleva, I got this info in English from http://www.tatianakoleva.com/:
5 November 2009
Concertgebouw Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Anatomic Lesson - AMC science public convention
Koleva Percussion Pool
with: Arie den Boer, Rene Spierings, Eric Robillard - percussion & drums
music by: Stewart Copeland - The Gene Pool
NOTE that it is Stewart's music being played, not Stewart himself playing. But a seemingly skilled marimbist will be playing a Stewart tune on November 5 for those near Amsterdam.
Gene Pool is a great song played live. It is a percussion only with drums, marimba, and xylophone. It is on the Orchestralli CD. He played in La Jolla in 2009 and Savannah in 2008. It was commissioned by the English percussion group Ensemble Bash and fist was released on their CD, Launch in around 1997 (may be 1996).
