Didn't they already do their farewell tour? This is getting to be ridiculous. I don't know who is worse, Diva Cher, that praying mantis Celine Dion, or Genesis when it comes to doing a farewell tour to milk the last penny from their fans with these "farewell" tours. What a marketing rip-off. Anybody who paid money to see them on the previous farewell tour should get their money refunded for false advertising.

There are no Genesis without Gabriel,I think it's gonna be a ridicolous tour.

I'm not a Genesis fan, even if I like some of their stuff, but after all those 'bad moves' they did lately, they really need to re-establish such a glorious name...

Apparently Phil Collins must be desperate for money. I heard yesterday that he makes a cameo in the newest Grand Theft Auto game as himself singing ing in the game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlClbw21rK8&eurl=

Apparently you can kill Collins in all sorts of ways in the game.

i wish gabriel and hackett would come back to the fold, if only for a tour or to re-record some more of their old songs. this may be their last go-round ever.

i'm a big fan, so i'll probably have to catch this one. i wasn't aware of their last tour being billed as such. still, that was 14 or so years ago, so i can forgive the marketing aspect. it may be all too true this time.

i enjoyed some of their later pop stuff as much as the arty gabriel years. one of the few bands to succeed in both arenas with credibility, IMO.

there's no new album to support this time out, so i hope we'll see a really good song selection. i mostly hated we can't dance. didn't even get calling all stations.

i am surprised that phil is doing any kind of tour, with his hearing problems. hopefully he takes care of himself!

Actually, I think I got it mixed up with Phil collins' solo tour from a few years ago which he billed as his farewell tour: http://www.genesis-fanclub.de/philcolli ... l_engl.htm

Anyway, I am suspicious of any act that bills itself as a "farewell" tour unless it was something done as a joke.

Phil did a "Farewell?" (the question mark his) tour a year or so ago (which I saw, not a bad show at all), but I'm not sure Genesis as a band ever did.

Without Gabriel and Hackett involved, I'll probably skip, as I'm mostly a fan of the earlier era stuff anyway. When I want an early-Genesis fix, I just go see The Musical Box (http://www.themusicalbox.net/), which is probably the most incredible tribute band ever, for any band. I've seen their "Foxtrot", "Selling England by the Pound" and "Lamb Lies Down..." shows and they are amazing. You really feel like you're back an an early 70s Genesis show, and they sound better than the original guys ever did on most of the bootleg shows I have! (Plus their singer and drummer even LOOK like Peter and Phil, which is amazingly freaky as well.)

Was it announced by their managment?

Either way I was sure it would happen soon.

I am with Al; Genesis has no value without Peter Gabriel.

You're probably right, Al. Without Gabriel, it doesn't cut it.

I'm an early fan myself - my favorite record (yes I have the record :) ) being Nursery Cryme.

I've never been able to choose a favorite album for them, but yes Ealy Genesis is better, just like Ealy Police is better (for different reasons).

I never really cared most of Peter's solo work though, am I the only one?
