Book signings

Will there be any in NY? Pretty please? And not during the week? I really can't afford to be, ahem, "sick" from work in this economy...

Will there be any contests to win copies of the book, like Andy did? I won one but it didn't do me any good because it shipped after the signing and I wanted to read it before the signing. I might sell the extra one on ebay in a few years when it's out of print.

I'm pulling for a NYC signing too, but it's not looking good. I just can't believe NY would be left out. :(

And not at lunch time. I am not good at faking "doctor appointments" in the middle of the day.
How about a Saturday afternoon?
I think the question is why NOT a NY event?

Oh, I think an LA signing is a given. He could wake up and roll out of bed and be at an LA signing!

OK, I'm admitting I've been too busy to keep on top of a lot of things around here lately, but was there something I missed about this? I would've thought a NYC appearance would be almost given, if anythings going to happen on the East Coast.

I'll be really bummed if it's just Europe and L.A. as I was hoping I'd get at least ONE chance to see Stewart this year, *sigh*...

Derek told us in La Jolla that is was not looking good for any signings other than the ones in LA and London :(

Furthering Conroy's thought...Derek mentioned Amoeba in LA and San Francisco (ahem, TOWOS, prepare your burkha), in addition to a signing in London. I've been on the fence about whether to mention these -- I don't think Derek would have mentioned them to me if it were meant to be kept in confidence, but if I'm wrong, I'll Lue Ann it. Just let me know.

I'm thrilled for TOWOS and the other West Coasters.

As for me, triple shit!

Wish I thought there'd be a bunch of time for Con & I to get a slew of extras for Statesiders. We'll try.

If the issue is logistics related to getting STEWART into New York/on the East Coast at around the time of the book release, there is a way to have a Plan B: when the PAPERBACK is released, it is reasonable to have an event to coincide with that release. Lewis Black just did it with his "Me of Little Faith" book. I know this because I had penciled it in on my calendar and then couldn't go :( but it was for the paperback edition--of this I am certain. So there is a way to have an event in NYC but it would wait until the paperback comes out (assuming there will be one, and I don't see why not).
