Book Spoiler Containment???

This is directed at no one in particular.

Can we contain all specific discussions of THE BOOK to one thread until it's officially out? Well, after that even, since it's not being released at the same time everywhere.

I appreciate the couple of times I've noticed "Book Spoiler" disclaimers in other threads, but stuff is likely to
slip out and lots of us don't want to know what Stewart wrote until we actually see it with our own eyes. Those of us who aren't as, ok I'll say it, anal  can wander into the book spoiler thread and peruse at their heart's delight.

Whatdya think?

you all begin to be paranoid - no one in particular, of course

all the stuff mentioned (from that first review on the other website to Gio's and my short comments) do not really reveal anything

you could say that the title of the book is a spoiler as it reveals that it's about the Police, polo and pygmies !

Well, I didn't add this thread to argue with anyone. Of course, there's stuff we can assume will be in there (The Police, polo, pygmies, his dad, Beirut, Curved Air, yada yada yada). BUT, there will undoubtedly be things in there that will be new to the majority of us. I want to find that stuff out for myself. That's all I'm saying. Feel free to disagree one and all.

i've heard that the book has got words in it and some pictures. It's my understanding that these words and pictures will all be describing or showing episodes from stewart's life.......

(i'm not being sarky, btw, i understand the wish not to know what's in it before it's out...... )

Harper Collins recomends the following books as being similiar to "Strange Things...":

The Menopause Thyroid Solution
By Mary J. Shomon
From New York Times bestselling author and nationally recognized patient advocate Mary J. Shomon comes a groundbreaking guide to safely managing menopause through a better understanding of and better care for your thyroid. If you're one of the forty million American women struggling through...

The Elephant Keeper
By Christopher Nicholson
"I asked the sailor what an Elephant looked like; he replied that it was like nothing on earth." England, 1766: After a long voyage from the East Indies, a ship docks in Bristol, England, and rumor quickly spreads about its unusual cargo—some say a mermaid is on board. A crowd forms, hoping to...

Bless you, mr.smax. You never fail to make me smile. I don't think any of the Floozies need a menopause guide. If they want to stop getting hot flashes they just have to stay away from vision's photo thread.

I'm not spoiler-phobic myself, but I understand that many folks are.

A lot of boards/forums use a system of just putting SPOILER in the subject line for any post/thread that will contain spoilers. Seems like a pretty simple-to-follow solution, yes?

Anyway, a little thoughtful regard in this way can make a lot of people very happy. Just my 2 cents!

+1 on Amy's thoughts. So much so that I'm staying out of any threads that aren't La Jolla specific right now, for the most part (though I am dipping a toe in others I suspect to have a low percentage of 'book talk.')

Some folks have been really good about labeling spoiler type details, but a couple days ago I stumbled across an unlabeled bit of information that seemed somewhat major and that I'd really rather have not known. So seems to me that staying out is preferable to continuing to bug people - after all, not everybody is 'spoiler-phobic' and some folks seem to be having a good time pre-releasing details. Of course, one clearly labeled thread would likely be a good compromise.

Hey, this phase of things won't last forever. It's really no big deal in the scheme of things.

Where was that, Dive? I'd like to read it.

Eh, not naming names. But if you dig around in recent threads, I'm sure you'll find plenty-o-book info. And it'll get more plentiful before it gets less, IMO...
