La Jolla Pre-show dinner

Found this place that's about 5 minutes from the venue. The menu sounds yummy, it gets good reviews, and prices seem fairly reasonable.
Please check it out, and let me know if you'd like me to make reservations for our group.

And, apologies for yet another La Jolla thread....

While the selection looks awesome, I am concerned that it is almost 2 miles from the theatre and I don't know what parking will be like.

I iwl ldefer to others but it might be better if the dinner location was within walking distance of the big event.

Hey, Nick, I hear what you're saying about the parking issue. According to someone I spoke with at the Sherwood Auditorium, there is either on-street or valet parking available for the venue. On-street parking is metered and limited for two hours only until 6 p.m, after which it is free (but they fill up fast). There are also 2 or 3 parking garages near the Auditorium. If we carpool, particularly those of us who are staying at the Hilton, we can limit the number of cars we'll need, which should help a bit.

That said, there are some restaurants on Prospect that sounded quite nice, albeit pricier. Here are the links of two that were somewhat reasonable. (If you check out George's, be sure to look at the menu for the ocean terrace as the main restaurant is particularly pricey). I spoke to someone at all three places, and we will definitely need to make arrangements in advance for a group our size.

I'll go with what everyone votes for. Nancy always picks GREAT places :)

That said, Georges Ocean Terrace sounds awesome- has some reasonable starters, and, well a rooftop ocean view meal with drinks before the show sounds VERY Socal :)
I like.

I just wanna know where to go on the day :)

Thanks NR!

I have been to George's. While the setting is wonderful, the food is meh IMHO and VERY expensive. But the view is worth the price.

I would vote for Roppongiusa, http://www.roppongiusa.com/home.html

Interesting mix of Asian food and prices seems reasonable with a great location.

Of course, I will be happy to go wherever.

I do think it would be best if we could try to eat within walking distance of the theatre since no everyone will be staying at the Hilton.

They all look wonderful, but I'm partial to being outdoors if possible. I'll go with the flow. ;)

Thanks for doing the legwork, Nance!

What an agreeable but indecisive group we are. :)

We are all willing to go with the group decision and nearly no one has expressed a preference. Is there a Burger King nearby?

I've been way too busy to have time to even sit down and look at the prospects. I'm a fan of going someplace close by for starters and drinks and a nice view before the show and eating a relaxing dinner after the show without being rushed to get somewhere else except to crash in our hotel rooms.
