Having taken some recommendations from some articles someone posted here about which CDs Stewart thinks are great, I have gotten way too far into Hendrix, Slipknot and Damien Marley. Every one he mentioned was dead on -- perfect. But, I need fresh material. Will you please send me some ideas? I like most music, but seriously detest smooth jazz, most corporate pop, and squickie-sweet country music. Other than that, let 'er rip.
Thanks!

The new Vieux Farka Toure album, Fondo, is fantastic. I don't say this lightly. Toure is getting right up there with Andy Summers in terms of his guitar work and the drums and production on this are outstanding.
The Dead Weather album Horehound dropped this week, also. I like it, tho I need to hear it a time or two more before I come up with firm impressions.
You'd probably new Neko Case's '09 release, Middle Cyclone. It's kind of sleepy, but being a vocalist yourself, you may find yourself inspired.
I like the new Springsteen, Working on a Dream, which I mentioned in another thread. It's very Byrds-Beatles influenced. You can almost hear Tom Petty singing a couple of the songs...not a bad thing in my book.

I've been listening to a lot of podcasts which play music from a site called Jamendo where you can download music from emerging artists for free under the Creative Commons license which is 100% legal. The stuff I've been hearing on the podcasts is very good.
