a favour; No Wave Compilation; tracklisting, pls?
Posted: 17 Jul 2009 01:21i can't (fecking) find my vinyl copy of this 1979 A&M compilation. The version with NO WAVE 'painted' across the cover... not the one with vomit and a surf dude on it (?!)
i'm trying to find/buy/download the tracks, but i can't find the tracklisting of the copy i've got anywhere.
i keep finding different tracklistings with bands that aren't on my copy; like the stranglers, and with different or fewer songs by the artists who are on my copy.....
i guess mine is the uk version with tracks from Klark Kent (don't care and one other), The Police (roxanne and sunnink else), Joe Jackson (sunday papers and sunnink else), Squeeze (bang bang? maybe), erm...Bobby Henry (Headcase?), The Secret (?), ...erm, the dickies... Shrink.... and maybe some others i can't remember...
it was one of the first police-related lp's i bought & i loved how it had Klark Kent and The Police on it, and on the back, about Klark, it said something like "who was this masked man? rumours abounded it was everyone from david bowie to jonny rotten... etc etc ".... the album pretty much cemented my early musical taste as i got all the early stuff by joe jackson and squeeze)
but what were all the tracksand artists? does anyone know?... answers on a postcard to...

(and it's not this, the second in the series which rather terribly didn't have Klark Kent on it, tsssk. but 2 blistering early joe jackson live tracks and 'landlord' and 'next to you' from the bottom line new york '79 show;
