Paul McCartney played two songs on the Letterman show, which is filmed in the same studio where the Beatles made there famous Ed Sullivan Show broadcast. After the show, Paul and his band (including Abe Laboriel Jr) played five songs on the roof of the theater:

Seen first thing this morning - Fan-fookin-tastic. I was outside that theatre several times, but never at the right time...Abe was a delightful add, and also the interview....
We're talking about my first love here (and I'm sure I can add a couple of billion other girls'=)

I caught it on YouTube this afternoon and thought he sounded great. Glad I spent [too much] to go see him in Atlanta next month.
Also finally bought the most recent Fireman record, on which I'd been procrastinating...have heard it's outstanding.

There will be an official release of the shows at Citi Field (where the Mets play now). This performance on the roof of the Ed Sullivan Theater will be an extra.

my mum-in-law lives in the same village as him (Peasmarsh in East Sussex, UK), and her neighbours kids went to the local school with his girls..... i saw the back of his head as he left the local pub last year just before i arrived (i'm still annoyed).
here's a funny thing; a couple of months ago Rosemary (neighbour whose sadly deceased son went out with stella mcC as kids) was in the local posh supermarket after a while she was aware of someone calling her name... eventually she turned round and it was Paul.. he said he'd been calling her name for ages following her up the aisles... made me laugh wondering when the last time was that Sir Paul had to try so hard to get someone's attention!
rock-solid guy apparently, still goes to the local shops and local pub, his kids went to the local schools etc, no one round there has a bad word to say about him. Heather, on the other hand....
lovin' the Fireman record and "Memory Almost Full"album with dance tonight etc is good... amazing that after so long he is till producing great work, especially the 'break up' record....
