I started to write something about not posting spoilers, but I guess we all know what happens. I'm looking forward to the ending, myself...

I'm headed out tomorrow no matter what!
It's not like I don't know what happens, but I don't want anyone to poison my impression with their opinions before I see it;)
Have fun!

I've read a couple of positive reviews. I may try to catch it Friday. Of course, my favorite big screen movie theatre has stopped playing first run movies.
Heard the kids have really grown into their parts.

It's playing at Bengie's Drive-In, the biggest screen on the East Coast:

I know EQ will beat my ass for this, but we'll probably go to the IMAX showing once it starts up in a couple weeks.
Oh hey! Beast Buy has all the first 5 movies on Blu-Ray for $20 apiece, not bad for Blu-Ray - AND you get a coupon for $5 off concessions when you go to see HBP in each one! So they're really like $15.
We bought 'em all, since we originally had bought them in the HD DVD format that's been discontinued...
Wow, amazeballs that it's open in Oz already. I wouldn't have braved a prime-time showing on the first day, but we figure most of the kiddoes will be in the sack by 8 PM. They ran like 12 midnight showings last night at the theater here...we thought about it but had stuff we had to do today

Yay, was good! Was surprised since most of the midnight shows were selling out last night but the daytime matinee maybe 1/2 (or tad bit more) full...

Well, heck. I was trying to be all sly and type my remarks in white font, so you'd have to highlight to read...but there's no gray available that matches the message background.
Oh well. I'll tell you later. In a nutshell, I thought it was five stars - out of four.

Ha HA! Found a way to do it. Highlight text between !s to read said remarks:

I thought it was very nearly the "Citizen Kane" of fantasy movies. Seriously. Effects, plot excellent, as we have come to expect, but what really makes it is the tremendous acting chops of these kids - and the dark mood, although it's hard to reconcile with the earlier movies. Nearly the entire movie is deadly serious.
My understanding is Rowling was a lot more involved with this film, and the final two - which are nearly completed - since she's finished writing the books. It shows.
I'll see it at least a couple more times before it comes out on video. I thought Emma Watson in particular was just outstanding. She'll go far, if she chooses to continue.
The ending was excruciating, even if we - of course - know how it all turns out. I missed Snape through most of the rest of the movie, though.
If this one's this good, the last two are going to be giants among the sci-fi/fantasy genre.
!

I saw it last night too, SPOILER!!!
It was everything Dive said, but I really thought (again) that they left out some scenes that are very important to story development. The kids were great though. Much better than in the past.

I've gotta dissent regarding Emma Watson. I just don't think she is at the same level of the other leads. But other than that minor quibble . . .
