U2 opening night in Barcelona

Just back home from the Camp Nou Stadium where I´ve seen the opening night of the new U2 World Tour. You like U2 or not, this is a not to be missed tour. How could I tell you? This is BIG, REALLY BIG!!! Despite some mistakes, 2 big mistakes on "One" with Edge in Idaho and Bono telling him how to come back, the concert was great with a never seen before stage, the usual political messages and a live connection with the astronauts in a space station out there in the sky!!!

I thought I would have enough with yesterday concert but I´ve just decided to go again tomorrow with a Roger Hodgson little break tonight. And Saturday Taranta in Milano and Sunday The Pretenders in Barcelona....

Anyway, to be honest, as an opening night, I enjoyed Vancouver much more!!!

By the way, I saw Phil Docherty, Andy´s assistant, working on stage for U2.

Thanks for your report my friend.
I'll be at the show next Tuesday and look forward to it, considering the first time I saw them live was in 1985!
Anyway, Phil is Bono's guitar tech, or at least this used to be his role on the previous tour, I don't know if something has changed.

I will wait for you in Milano this Saturday.
Giovanni

Thanks Xavier,
It's my turn on the 20th. I had doubts, because the new cd is nice, I think, but not SUPER. I'm really looking forward to it now!

Nice to hear.
Here in LA there has been no U2 news, all entertainment reports are on nothing but Michael Jackson coverage.
I have been that into the new album yet, but I know as my Rose Bowl date approaches and I hear more news of the tour I am going to get pretty excited.

I kinda thought about the Atlanta date, but even 100-level tix are $250 and I'm just not that into ginormous stadium shows. As I told Starblade & Kiki on Facebook, I'll reconsider if they add The Police as an opener. ;)

But in the meantime, I plan to enjoy hearing the reports from all you folks!!

Hey Dive !

I'm going to see them in Paris...tell me...where is the best position for standing tickets ? I don't want to be TOO close to the round stage ? What do you suggest...centre middle about 100 yards back ?

cheers

There are changes in the set list on night 2. GREAT stuff being played. Great mix of old and new and everything in between and some real classic stuff too. Set list for night two here: http://www.u2gigs.com/article477.html
