The Virgin Mobile Festival in Maryland is going free. Weezer, Blink-182, Franz Ferdinand, Girl Talk, the Hold Steady, Public Enemy and the National will be among the acts for the fourth annual event, which will be on Aug. 30 at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md. (In previous years it has been held in Baltimore.) Tickets — a total of 35,000 for the show, with a maximum of two per customer — will become available at 10 a.m. on Saturday at ticketmaster.com, but Virgin Mobile customers and previous festival attendees will have first crack at tickets, on Thursday and Friday. Tickets have no surcharges if picked up at the pavilion or at the 9:30 Club in Washington, but it will cost $5 per order to have them mailed. Information and the full lineup can be found online at virginmobilefreefest.com.
