You know what? They played in some crappy little art gallery in a warehouse somewhere in the east end this week... I heard about it on the news and it was full of 'celebrities' - how annoying is that?!

Ya, that is annoying~they just released this monster hip and precious arty box set that's like eleventy billion dollars or something and so some of the gallery things are related to that--but, all in all, this does not concern me...

I am waiting for The Big Ass Rawk Show anywhere in the US!!!

I haven't either and they're definitely at the top of my to-do list too.
Not many dates listed yet but fingers crossed for a Vancouver show.
If they do make it to Van then this monkey's going to heaven!

From Rolling Stone

Pixies will jump on the full-album-gig bandwagon to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their 1989 album Doolittle. Black Francis, Kim Deal, Joey Santiago and David Lovering will perform the album in its entirety — with related B sides — on a 11-date U.K. and European tour that launches October 1st in Dublin (full itinerary after the jump). “We wanted to do something special for Doolittle’s 20th anniversary,” said Black Francis in a statement, “and we thought his was a good opportunity to play all of the songs from that album, something we don’t normally do at a regular gig.” Doolittle, the band’s second full-length album, features breakthrough single “Here Comes Your Man,” along with fan favorites “Wave of Mutilation,” “Gouge Away” and “Monkey Gone to Heaven.”

In mid-June, Pixies returned to the stage at the Isle of Wight festival, marking one of their first gigs since wrapping their 2004 reunion tour and its subsequent festival appearances. The band’s monster Minotaur box set is on sale now.

Oct. 1 - Dublin, Ireland @ Olympia
Oct. 2 - Dublin, Ireland @ Olympia
Oct. 4 - Glasgow, Scotland @ SECC - Hall 4
Oct. 6 - London, England @ Brixton Academy
Oct. 7 - London, England @ Brixton Academy
Oct. 8 - London, England @ Brixton Academy
Oct. 9 - London, England @ Brixton Academy
Oct. 11 - Frankfurt, Germany @ Jahrhunderhalle
Oct. 13 - Amsterdam, Holland @ Heineken Music Hall
Oct. 14 - Brussels, Belgium @ Forest National
Oct. 15 - Paris, France @ Zenith
There is no bigger gong.

Hey all, sorry I dropped the ball on an earlier heads-up things have just been absolutely crazy over here. The Pixies are playing Hammerstein Ballroom Nov. 23, 24, and 25--I know, Mon, Tue, and Wed of Thanksgiving week, brilliant, right? I managed to finagle my schedule to actually accommodate this (the DC date is the only closer one and it was impossible).

PCat will be joining me for Nov. 25, as it is our anniversary, but I was gonna shoot for all three nights and go up individually (Pcat's schedule cannot be finagled), perhaps even up on the bus <grin>. He is on the other comp trying to get tickets for me accordingly...

Hope this is still of use to anyone in the area considering the shows, I just could not miss this and will be in for all 3 nights! OK, I'm back to work & <3, gsc

Don't hate me because I'm beautiful (HA!), but I saw the original Doolittle tour back in 1990. It was a great gig, they were opening for Love & Rockets and hardly anybody was there. They played their set in alpha order, IIRC....

Saw 'em again at the Ryman circa 2007 and anyone who's able has gotta go if only for D. Lovering's drumming. Seriously. My heart will always belong to Kim, but if you're into the whole Keith Moon thing...

Not sure I can swing a spendy-hotel NYC jaunt, but I may try to pick up whatever crops up in ATL or Charlotte. Glad to hear you're getting to do it up, tho, G.
On Google - site:stewartcopeland.net "your keyword here" - thanks DM!!
