Claypool makes (theoretical) comment re new Oysterhead album

I'll be honest: til I read the actual quote, my heart was palpitating; but before anyone else needs CPR, know that the quote that follows this author's broad (over)statement here is vague and theoretical and noncommittal (though I admit it still kinda makes me smile):

The rest of the year with Primus might also hinge on what happens with his Oysterhead collaboration with Phish's Trey Anastasio and the Police's Stewart Copeland. "We've been talking about making another [Primus] record for a while," he says. "But we've been talking about making an Oysterhead record for a while too."

I keep imagining a line of "Oysterhead: You Know You Want To" t-shirts.

Too subtle?

Not too subtle at all... in fact, it's brilliant.

Normally I'd be stoked for another Primus album - aside from The Police and The Clash, they are my favorite band. But, an Oysterhead announcement might just make my head explode before I ever get to see them. I'm actually hyperventilating right now with the mere thought.

If we start saving money now, we might just be able to make every show when it happens

And, it WILL happen. Right, Stewart? (yes, I'm begging for an answer)

*thanks Kel:)

I really would DIE for an Oysterhead announcement right now. I need something Stew-related to look forward to that I might have an actual chance of attending!

Been trying to pick up gossip from the Phish people all weekend. Saw a guy with a great Grand Pecking Order shirt hanging out by the merch tent earlier today (I'm @ Bonnaroo. Full report later, but it's 2 AM now and I gotta get up to do it again tomorrow!)

Short version: It's kicking ASS; Stewart sorely missed; Bruce Springsteen rocked the hizzouse tonight. You all are sorely missed. Gina sends her love I'm sure. xoxo J.

p.s. I'm Twittering most of it for anyone who cares. See Twitter thread for username.

Unfortch, it came to naught. But not due to my lack of trying.

Oh, and I hear you on the whole 'swallowin yer tongue' thing...it's really nice to see Les talking about this.

Hell. I bet Stewart would do it just to watch us all freak out....

HAH Dive and I were reading this thread on the Berry sitting on a blanket right before the Neko hit the stage--good times :) Oy-Ster-Head! It's still going t require inter-stellar and planetary alignment--now if only we can hear something like this from Trey we are on to something!! <grin>

Well, here's what I can piece together from the Phish side and cat-powers of reasoning (i.e. caveat emptor <grin>)
Phish is on Summer Tour right now wraps up next week. They release their 12th studio album Party Time on July 28, 09. They have another tour leg slated for Late Summer Tour that goes through August. I have to tell you that the Phish show at Roo was the most crowded I have ever seen a headliner show there--people were packed all the way to the back by the portas, it was nuts. So the reunion is going really well, so to speak, and they had been doing a slew of shows before Roo. Not sure if they are going to tour like they used to, it almost took out Trey for good, so I suspect that probably wouldn't be the most likeliest scenario and so I imagine that after the two summer legs, and possibly fall, that some time in the studio might make for a good break from all the time on the road. But if Phish is still going full force off the momentum from the record, I'd take Primus in the interim (massive Primus fan) and would f'in start a cat-riot at the show <grin> And then Oysterhead!

Just my luck they'll hit everywhere but here, or do a three night thing in New York. Three nights in one city, not cool.
