OT: "eyewear for the irreverent and slightly jaded"

I'm blind like a blind, blind bat in a dark, dry cave, which means that I'm always purchasing and losing and purchasing reading glasses. They are NEVER where "I just put them down, dammit."

I have found my new favorite shopping site for readers and knowing you folks also fit their intended audience (see title of thread), I had to share. I found these readers at Off 5th, the Saks outlet (shop there for discounts) and decided to visit their website. This is just too good not to share with my fellow blind shopping brethren and...um, sistren? Anywho, enjoy.

I got these in the black/white colorway. Because I prefer to see things in black and white, of course.

I did consider whether this ought to go into the shoe thread, but, dammit, these aren't shoes. So, another shopping thread emerges -- my apologies.

Heh, cool find! I have an awesome spot I go to for those who like tpo have a bunch of different glasses to suit different moods. Y'all have seen a few of mine from this site: Most pairs of glasses with anti-scratch coating complete and shipped are like 20-30 bucks. Its awesome and thought I'd share it here, actually on topic for once <grin>:

Well, I love how they describe themselves on the home page:

"So you’ve always had 20/20 vision, right?

Every 8 seconds someone turns 40. This means 1.5 million people are having birthdays and if they don’t already wear a reader, they soon will be (97% by the time they are 50)."

Put me right in that category. The vision isn't going YET, but I do notice that it isn't what it used to be as 40 nears... I'm not crazy about glasses, but they might as well be gorgeous if you have to wear them! Thanks Chatch!

I like this bit, myself:

"eyebobs are not intended for the masses. It’s meant for someone who is a little edgy, definitely has an opinion, may be a bit too outspoken, who dares to be different, and who doesn’t mind attracting attention."

Sounds about right for this crew!!

Gorgeous specs! Thanks, Chatchka!!

And thanks, too, to the Super Cat for sharing her own source for some amazing (and amazingly priced, too!) prescription frames! You know what they say...it is our ability to accessorize that separates us from the animals!

Gina,

That site is awesome! Thanks for sharing it.

BTW, I've been wearing my b/w smitten kittens around today and getting lots of comments on them. Might have to wear them to my gig tonight.

My submission: 39dollarglasses.com

They're more expensive, like $80 for polarized sunglasses, but they ship pretty fast. you'll have your specs inside like 10 days.

Will peruse some of you ladies' other offerings!
