OT: my busy life and StewartCopeland.net

Hello my friends.
You may have probably noticed that I was a little absent in the last couple of months.
Being the main guy, together with Eugenio, behind this place, I have to admit that sometimes it's hard to keep taking care of everything, including this place; too many ideas and activities related to SC.net are in our minds, very cool things that could surely make this place even better, but they are up there in the shelves of our heads; hopefully one day, each one of them will be spread to the world of Stewart fans.

As I already said, I had to face a few bad vibes taking care of my mother who was in hospital for a urgent operation at her bowel, came back home in a couple of weeks, but then, after a couple of weeks home, she was back in the hospital again and came back home yesterday. She's feeling way much better now, but as you can imagine, I had to take care about something I wasn't ready for; I'm very 'cold' when major things like these happen, and I lived the whole time with my head up and with a smile in my face, trying to help my mother and letting her understand everything was under control.

At the same time I had to face my boss who asked me to replace a colleague of mine who left, whose responsabilities were definitely important; ok, now you can tell I'm one of the main guy of the company where I work (with no more money involved by now!!! grrrr...), but I had to place more work and responsabilities on my shoulders, considering I already had an important role with a lot of stuff to do.

Third important step of the last couple of months: my band is working; the pic you can see in the avatar is me while shooting the video of a track called 'Vertigine'; you can see a trailer, the making of the video on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qL8SsyGzmDM
We had a lot of fun, really; in the last few Saturdays we played around the north of Italy, we were at a festival in Verona, we played at a few contest, and we will soon be at a press conference for our videoclip in one of the most important music store in Milano. I play the bass, co-produce the tracks and I'm the manager of Bianca, the singer (the whole project turns around her).

Now, mix these three different episodes (my mother illness, my work at the company and my band), shake them well, and you know why I was a little absent. But don't worry that the new steps in Stewart career, with the new adventures with La Notte Della Taranta and Ben Hur Live experience will be featured very closely not to let you miss a beat!
Be ready with the reports on his new Italian tour as Eugenio and I will try to report every breath Stewart will take!

And, as usual, I will never stop to say that who takes this place alive is you with all your reports, news, anedocts, crazyness, creativity, posts, personal stories, adventures and a lot more. Thanks.

How you do all you do, I will never know, but thanks for sharing from your other lives & best wishes for your mother. Your video is absolutely freaking cool!!! As always, *thank you*!

 Whoa.....am glad to hear of your mother's turn to better health. Taking care of a close relative in this way is a huge commitment (my folks did this TWICE!), and the both of you will be in my prayers (the "God Bless these Nutters" list  ). This will come back to you in good ways/blessings that you cannot anticipate-I have seen how things came around to bless my own parents lives after all they did for our relatives.
All the Best for your Band AND with these additional work responsiblities! Hope the financial rewards come to you in good time too  .

You all looked like you had some fun making that video!

There seems to be a lot of people picking up other's responsibilities for the same money... guess things aren't that different across the ocean. Sorry you got slapped with the extra workload and I'm glad your mom is on the mend.

At the very least it IS the same around the world, we are all together in this.

So very glad your Mother is feeling better. That stuff really wears you down worrying.

I am very happy for you Gio, you are a real go-getter and that's why you are always so busy, and getting more responsibility. Actions speak louder than words.

I haven't had the chance to meet you yet but I wanted to say I am very proud of you Buddy, top class musician, son, internet pal.

I wasn't around for a long time here....sorry giovanni. I face a similar situation actually. My mother is very sick with an incurable brain tumor - she won't recover from it. Together with my brother and sister I look after her in the care home she is in. She can't be at home as this is being renovated totally! I visit her daily and as the tumor progresses she becomes less and less every day:-( The doctors can't do anything any more now and we all just look after her that she is comfortable and hasn't got pain.

Well, I am happy that I have stewartcopeland.net, sting.com and stingus.net to keep me company as well as good friends in the real life. You need good friends in such dark times. I have my translation work too which is important as I need the money as I plan to move, when all is over, to Toronto, Canada to get a steady job as a translator. why Canada, you might ask? well, i have relations there and contacts. You need a network;-) My choir singing I also have, so I really can confirm, Giovanni, that you need a nice hobby in order to live though difficult times. I hope your mother gets better and has many years before her. For mine, there is no hope left:-( I am happy that we had all of last year together after that diagnosis and that the Chemotherapy worked for a certain time so that she could be at home last year with help from me and others and even make a cruise in the mediterranian last October with my sister. These are wonderful and happy memories which will stay and are important just now.
