Excellent!

Ya know, it doesn't surprise me that CC would dig SC. Something about his song structures is a bit of a similar sensibility. (betcha can't say that six times fast ;))

I'll save EQ the trouble:

CC: I'm a huge Beatles fan, so I gravitate toward heavily textured songs where it's clear there was careful attention paid to production. I'm a sucker for an amazing winding guitar line and a killer rhythm section with a drummer that suddenly makes you bounce. As a sidenote, there's never been a better time to be an amazing drummer. Drum loops are cool, but there are limitations. Nothing can replace a great live drummer. I've been listening to a lot of Police albums lately, and Stewart Copeland will blow your mind. He's one of the last superstar drummers. If you hear one piece of his kit — a hi-hat, a snare, whatever — you know it's him. And there's just not a lot of guys like that out there today.

I freakin' love Chris Cornell's voice. One of the best singers out there.

I have nver been a huge CC fan but enjoy listening to his stuff.
But when I have heard and read interviews he seems like a very cool guy.

Oh god. Do I have CC stories! He's awesome. Truly truly awesome.

However, I have to say, I HATE this newest album. HATE it. Worse than nails on a chalkboard!

And no, his appreciation of SC doesn't surprise me AT ALL.

Meg, are you actually Trent Reznor in disguise?

*explanation - Trent has Twittered that CC's album is so bad it made him (Trent) uncomfortable (or was it embarassed)*

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

No, I didn't go from drugs to 'roids!

*no explanation required*

Have you heard that timbaland mess EQ? If you have, I think you'd have to agree. I was embarassed for him.
Though I think it may have been the greatest commercial success so far.

UH, I understand dislike for his last album (Euphoria Morning was amazing, though), but if there is one person who STFU is Trent Reznor....

New album peaked on the Billboard 200 at #10 on March 28, 2009, higher than his other two solo albums peaked
Should have said earlier enjoy listening to him except the new stuff.

Guess Hot Producer + Buzz and Press because you are working with Hot Producer = Album Sales!

Maybe his next project he could get the Maestro and maybe Tom Morello on guitar?

Meg, can you put this together?

Gotta say that Silversun Pickup's new CD "Swoon" is currently one of my favorite CD's released this year (it's in a close race with "Kingdom of Rust" from Doves who I'll be seeing at the 9:30 club in DC in a few weeks WOOOOO!!!!) and Panic Switch is one of my favorite songs of that CD.

I gotta agree with you Conroy. I HATED Silversun Pickup previously. I thought Lazy Eye was the most monotonous song ever. But Panic Switch really rocks. WHOOOOOO!!!

Mrs. EQ was stunned when she found out the lead singer is a guy, though.

OT: Reznor just got engaged.

Hope his betrothed doesn't plan on wearing high heels to the ceremony....

You guys convinced me. I was debating getting the new Silversun Pickups since I was never over the top about them but LOVE the new song. I will have to get their new album.
