hi
anyone there who has got US magazines (Rolling Stone, Trouser Press, Creem...) from around March / April / May 1983 with tourdates for Wall Of Voodoo ???
I need one or two of their concert dates to find the day when Don't Box Me In was actually recorded ...
I searched the internet for almost two hours now and couldn't find the dates I was looking for (Boston 1983 / somewhere in New Jersey 1983).

Been looking for you but nothing
however on the other thread about rumble fish surely that would have been when it was recorded which in my books is closer to June because of the annocement of Jordan birth which is the 28th
just a thought since I have no idea how studio recordings are done
Come on Stewart this one you could possible answer

Just came across in the archives here that Stewart and Stan work together on Don't box me in 1982 and recorded in one day (which you probably already knew)
Wall of voodoo on the 28th May play at the US festive....sorry only date I can find...........still looking!
so am I together that Don't box me was recorded before the album?
I have the actual clip of this from the 1983 which I just loved!

thanks for looking
Stewart definitely worked on Rumblefish at Tres Virgos Studio in March 1983 after finishing Synchronicity (see the working sheet link on the wiki page)
I found several Wall Of Voodoo flyers or bootlegs mentioned on the internet from January to April + the May US festival gig, but sadly not the Boston concert date yet...
oh, Stewart could answer all of my questions but he wouldn't be able to finish Ben Hur / his book / laundry / anything if I asked
but someday I will :)

Is Staten Island, NY on 1st April any help? It is in this list of bootlegs, so not really a verifiable source:

Haha. Think maybe Stewart would be willing to set up a lending library for his old journals? You'd just need a barcode reader and some pre-printed mailing envelopes, like with Netflix.

I contacted several ebay sellers of 1983 Rolling Stone magazines (hoping that there are kind people out there who will have a quick look at the tourdates section)

I forgot to look at home last night. I think I have only 1 or 2 Rolling Stones from 1983 but slipped my mind to check to see if I would be able to help.
Like visions, I did some lookig on-line to help but no luck. Of course you did that before you asked us, but sometimes a different searcher can find it.
And then I didn't search at home.

I have some old issues from about that time in the attic, but I'll be out of town from work today. I'll try to take a look when I am home again. Good luck, D!
