OT - Has Josh Freese joined Weezer?

A private party for the new Mobile Sidekick cell phone had plenty of surprises. One of them was an appearance by Blink 182 (uh, did anyone really miss them?).

But anyway, Weezer also played the show. However, their regular drummer, Pat Wilson was on guitar. On drums was Josh Freese.

Weezer will be playing some dates with Blink 182 this year. It might be a show where I only stay for the opening/ first act. I've never seen Weezer before, so I am thinking about going. But does anyone know if Josh will be drumming for them this tour? Isn't Devo touring this summer? Is Josh still with Devo? Why has Pat switched to guitar?

*hopes St. Jeff sees this post and can provide some insight*

It was announced today that Blink 182's tour will open in Vegas on July 24. They have not confirmed whether it will be Weezer opening that show or possibly Fall Out Boy (groan) or Panic at the Disco (local Vegas boys). I hear tickets will only be $60, and I'm hoping it is Weezer. I've been wanting to see the new Joint. I passed the Hard Rock yesterday. Apparently, they tore down the old parking garage and put the new concert venue there.

I believe Josh Freese is also playing with Sting at his night at Foxwoods.

When is that guy gonna have time to give massages to his auction winners?

DEVOs album is due out in the fall, if that makes a little more sense of this...

Well, I guess it's good to hear that Travis Barker is OK.
I hadn't heard anything since he got out of the hospital.

Josh Freese with Weezer would be ridiculously great.

Travis Barker closed the KROQ Weenie Roast on Saturday here in LA.
He seems to have recovered from the accident pretty well, although I have not heard him talk about it at all.

If any Weezer fans out there want to see some video here is some:

I agree with EQ, when I heard Blink 182 at the Grammies go We are back did not have quite the same effect on me as say another group…….

hahahah. Throb, too true.

Blink was on KROQ yesterday. They're doing a 50 city tour this summer. So, Travis is just fine. I've heard him talk about his recovery- it was long and hard. He didn't have fine motor control for a while.quite a while.

Josh isn't joining any new bands permanently I think. He's really busy promoting his own album in his unusual way- which RAWKS!- and playing with anyone and everyone. He is playing Foxwoods, though even that's not enough to drag me to see a Sting show. No Thanks.

I know he was out playing mini golf with one of the package buyers yesterday. :)

I think Devo might do US dates this year- if so, I am in. If for no other reason than to have a great laugh with Jeff.

I didn't think Josh was going to permanently join Weezer. I was just wondering if he was going to play with them just for this tour. Or maybe just the West Coast dates.

Duh, I know you are smarter than that.

I say go see them, irregardless. I think it was just a one off. You could ask him on FB tho. :)

I am eager to see the new Joint too. What's coming up that's good? I miss u and smell a road trip!
