First new reading in spanish at:

http://www.adnmundo.com/contenidos/adnc ... 10509.html

and second one a post at TP.Com :?

I need these to be confirmed, beacause I want to claim one for Lima - Peru.. I deserve it and Peru deserve it.... The Police have a debt with my land and peruvians to The Police

Where is the official announcement of La Habana gig? for 2009??? Then I just read about a concert in June 20 -2009?? What happen? Please tell me the truth... Here in Lima - Peru exist a musical fever of "Live Concerts" I mean sold out concerts of rock in stadiums and arenas and the recognition of bands like Iron Maiden, Kiss, Oasis, REM, Travis, Peter Gabriel, Duran Duran, Jonas Brothers (two sold out gigs for around 100'000 fans) and more to the devotion and emthusiasm of peruvian audience plus the giant media coverage gave to international rock concerts boked in PERU...

Peruvian promoters are hungry of first class rock concerts to present in Lima... Depeche Mode was booked a gig in Lima and also strongly possibilities of AC/DC concert in Lima too... If THE POLICE will play in La Habana exist more chances for booking a gig in Lima - Peru.... I need a pray and crossing fingers!!!

Anyone have a translation??

This one from babelfish:

"The band gave the return to the world by a year, and was seen by three million people. Although still they have left a date, - that will be the 20 of June in Stormont, Ireland Copeland said to him to BBC News that they have desire to return to leave tour, but would have to wait for a good time. ' He would recommend that all artist would have to do it every 20 years. Then, llámenme in 20 años' , he joked. Copeland completed the band of sound of the next show ' Horseradish tree Hur Live' , a project that it describes like ' a mixture of music with images, something of battery trash more ethnic elements, like of the Middle East. ' The show, I decipher by the producers like ' event operístico' it will be released in London in September."

just isn't doing it for me. Horseradish tree? What?

Pretty sure I spotted Mr C in a photo in The Metro on Tuesday. He was stood outside the O2 Arena promoting the Horseradish Tree Hur thingy! If it wasn't him, it was another tall guy with a huge smile and remarkably similar taste in headwear!

Btw I'm still a little tempted by this. Smax, Smudge, Hannaha, Kimmy...???? Fancy a bit of horseradish in September? :D

Stormont in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on June 20?

I was at that show. Nearly a year ago. There was indeed plenty of battery trash; the bastards didn't bring the horseradish though.

If you can promise me live horseradish trees, I'll consider it. If the horseradish trees are racing around inside the O2, I'm in for sure.

Being a garden geek, I couldn't let pass the opportunity to learn more about this previously (to me) unknown tree!

http://www.livingdesert.org/plants/horseradish_tree.asp

Interestingly, the tree goes back to ancient times, and was apparently prized by the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans...hence, they would fit right in as part of the Ben Hur stagecraft!

Even more interesting is the other name they commonly go by -- drumstick tree! Honest.

Heeeee!!

You know, my Espanol isn't nearly good enough to offer up a straight translation, but based on what I can read, it looks like another recycle of the Italian article about Stormont.

Sorry, Jose. I think we're out of luck here. A publicist in Italy got an email many months after it went out and put out some misinformation. :(

[OK, I'm gonna try. a little, although there's no topping Ramuthra's translation...

Headline: Basically, The Police may be playing more shows, according to Stewart

The Police played around the world for a year (sic), performing to millions

Although they still have one more show, in Stormont, Ireland. They do want to play more shows but have to wait for a good time, according to Stewart.

[the 20 years quote]

Ha! Battery trash....Basically Stewart's working on Ben Hur, which he says will incorporate a lot of different ethnic elements. Probably the 'battery' quote means 'electrifying'....Jose?

The show, an "operatic event," will premiere in London in September.

My Spanish is non-existant, but the language is close enough to French and Italian that I can summise that the battery refers to a drumset. I'm thinking that battery junk means a lot of cool drum thingies.
I'm loving the horseradish tree!
