This is mainly for BongoBoy as I know he is in love with them now, and has tickets to see them soon, but anyone else that likes em/wants to see em-

OMG WHAT A SHOW! We saw DMB Friday night. Had bought tickets through the fanclub way back before they went on sale and ended up finding WAY better seats the day of the show so we snagged them, and sold our tickets at the pavilion. This was the very first show of the season at the Pavilion where I was lucky enough to play the chariot last summer (guess I have to throw a lil bit of STEWART in there!). Hurricane Ike decimated the canopy/roof so they've been rebuilding it bigger and badder and opened back up with DMB on Friday. We had 12th row- fucking fantastic view, and were treated to an amazing show. Last year Leroi Moore, founder member/sax player had died and they replaced him temporarily with Jeff Coffin from the Flecktones- amazing player- freaking played an alto and tenor at the same time for one of the songs!! He's back as a semi permanent member, along with trumpeter Rashawn Ross, and Tim Reynolds again on guitar. Anyways, great crowd, they played 4 new songs which for a change were very good. I haven't really liked any of the new albums as a whole since 1998's Before These Crowded Streets, these new songs bode very well for the new album in my book!

The whole show Carter was on Fire! Seriously it was probably the best of the 6 times we've seen them over the last 7 years. Russ I am so excited for you for this show!! Carter and Jeff played alot of call and answer stuff during some of the songs extended jams, one upping each other, and it was such a cool thing to hear. I hope you (and anyone else going to see them) has as great a show as we did- incredible music, everyone was just ON and you could tell were having so much fun on stage. Carter played a solo too which he's never done on any of the tours I've seen since 2002 and it was better than anything I've heard from Neil Peart. And no, that was not a typo.

There was a taper at our show who recorded an extremely good quality mix, I've DL'd it so if anyone is interested, lmk.

Thanks for indulging me, now go on back to oogling avatars, dissecting copy and grammar, and speculating on book covers. ;)
