OT: LIMA the hot CITY for CONCERTS in S. America
Posted: 03 May 2009 19:20
I think it was december 2007, when a group of peruvian fans had a meeting in front of Peruvian National Parlament for claiming the reduction of taxes into musical spectales. A day after, I met Stewart and saw THE POLICE for my very first time in Chile, because "The Police" never came to Peru and the contract with peruvian promoters never successed.
A year after at the begining of 2008, Peruvian Parlament approved the reduction of those taxes and started the arriving of big names of the musical business in Peru. Besides this the warmest, crazy and hottest reaction of peruvian fans transformed Lima in one of the most hot cities in South America for receiving musical concerts.
Nowadays, prestiguous chilean newspaper "El Mercurio" considered Lima the newest and hot place for receiving big musical spectacles after Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro.... and the risk that Lima could replace Santiago in this way... the ingredients of Lima success are obvious, a main political and economical stability, four scenaries for biggest spectacles like National Stadium of Lima (45,000), Monumental Stadium Arena (30,000), Jockey Club Arena (20,000) and San Marcos University renewed Stadium (35,000), an enourmous peruvian media coverage for any big spectacle in Lima makes it a main event and produced musical fever on peruvian fans...

Great commentaries from members and leaders of the bands or artists that palyed in Lima, described the audience like warmed, hottest and energetic and those ingredients makes on artist a mayor commitment in the performing show. At the end all those artist smiling satisfied with the response of the audience and their gratitude from it.
Bands like "Oasis" reunited 45,000 peruvian fans, while in Santiago there were around 10,000, Andrea Bocelli tour "Incanto" that performed in Lima reunited 20,000 peruvian, while in Santiago or Buenos Aires Bocelli didn't performed any show. Legendary "Kiss" reunited 40,000 peruvians and considered Lima like a hot place, the same with REM who loved the response of the 40,000 peruvians.
Thinking on that only give me the little hope of an open door of a new project that involves Sting, Andy and Stewart fro playing again and feels one of the most warmest places in the world for any alien or outlander of Peru
Crossing my fingers for an Andy+Stewart+Sting show in Peru
Because I was the one who persuade peruvian fans for claiming - like a "Party parade" the reduction of taxes to spectacles in front of peruvian parliament.... So, "The Police" deserves me a chance and debt me a big one chance for playing in Peru... :D 8) Dreming isn't bad, hope is bigger than justice
