heard something about this a while ago but now it has been confirmed:

LOS ANGELES, April 28 (UPI) -- U.S. actor Shia LaBeouf is in talks to co-star with Michael Douglas in Oliver Stone's sequel to his 1987 ode to greed "Wall Street."

Variety.com reported Twentieth Century Fox confirmed the news Tuesday.

Douglas picked up an Academy Award for his portrayal of Wall Street titan Gordon Gekko in the original film. He is expected to reprise his role in the second movie, while LaBeouf could portray a young trader similar to the one Charlie Sheen played in the first picture.

"Things We Lost in the Fire" and "21" writer Allan Loeb is penning the screenplay, which will reflect the current economic climate, Variety.com said.

Stone recently directed the President George W. Bush bio-picture "W." Douglas will be seen this week in the romantic comedy "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" and LaBeouf recently worked on the sequel to his blockbuster "Transformers."

"greed is good"

And I am greedy for more Stewart music and would love it if he did this sound track.

He hasn't done much soundtrack work of late other than the Ben Hur.

I found this German link, but, for the little German I understand, I do think the part about Stewart refers to the original soundtrack.

No word about who will compose the soundtrack for the n.2

(Dietmar? Phaty? Maud?) Hilfe?

Keeping my fingers crossed on this one! The original is one of his best scores IMO, tho pretty short.

I had been under the impression previously that Stone wouldn't be involved. Getting him attached to the project should bring a boatload of credibility, even if his career has lost steam since the Platoon days. Shia is icing on the cake that should get the attention of the younger crowd.

My wife is of the opinion that no matter who does the score, they'll have to at least include some of the themes from WS1.

Maybe the barking dogs will be replaced by weasels.

Towos,

Ja, so my German is rusty, but given the context and my best guess at the tense, that looks like a referral to the original, rather than part two.

They need to have Stew's music for sure...

...and Charlie Sheen too.

They gotta bring back Terence Stamp as well (Sir Larry Wilder)

Just love the way he does his line "I should dump the stock just to burn his ass!"
