I am very old school when it comes to music.

The only band which come close to the Police in what I like is the Beatles. The majority of my CD collection is the Police, the Beatles, and solo offerings of Stewart, Andy, Sting, John, Paul, George and Ringo.

Others I like a lot include Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, and Zeppelin.

My music is even older than I am.

Jimi Hendrix, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Steve Miller Band, Neil Young, The Guess Who, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Foreigner, and Golden Earring. There are others I like, of course... but this is who I've been mostly listening to lately.

Non-Police stuff I've been into lately:

Steely Dan
LOTS of Zappa
spending quite a bit of time with the classical radio stations while in the car
Cuban music/Salsa (N G La Banda etc...)

and an act from Japan (don't laugh Masayo, Midori etc... maybe you've heard of them?) I've been really going crazy about for a few months now with no sign of slowing down, Perfume (パフーム):

At this moment, I am listening to stuff from Beck and Clapton's recent tour of Japan as well as McCartney from '08. I love Abe Laboriel, Jr. In particular, he just SMOKES on Motherless Children with Clapton.
