OT: "GitM":Portraits from cassette tape & film

(Especially for our musical/visual artists.)

Hendrix, Dylan, Robert Smith, Ian Brown, Ian Curtis -- all made from old cassette tape (there are a couple of film portraits as well):

Ghost in the Machine

In this series I showcase a number of portraits of musicians made out of recycled cassette tape with original cassette. Also included are portraits made from old film and reels. The idea comes from a philosopher's (Ryle) description of how your spirit lives in your body. I imagine we are all, like cassettes, thoughts wrapped up in awkward packaging. : )

Holy shit. The Robert Smith one is amazing, artistically as well as creatively with the medium.

The Robert Smith is definitely my fav too, but I'm also loving the Dylan.

Wow. Just, WOW.

Not knocking the work, but I wonder why the artist didn't use actual tapes from his subjects instead of those blank ones. Guess he/she wanted to keep it clean.

Yep, the Robert Smith is my favorite of the bunch. In some of the comments, the artist mentions that he's working on a Tom Waits.

Oh, not me: I didn't make them. I was just quoting the original artist's description.
