Hi all,
I received the Listing newsletters (listing.free.fr) and they say:
Les projets d'album pour Sting se précisent, les rumeurs d'enregistrement de Police sous certaines formes (vous entendrez Sting, Stewart et Andy sur un même CD prochainement, j'ai de bonnes sources!), le retour de Fiction Plane et l'agenda de ministre de Stewart Copeland.
I roughly translate:
Sting albums projects become clearer.
Rumours about recording of the Police "in particular forms" (you'll hear Sting, Stewart and Andy on the same CD soon, I got good sources!)
Does anybody know what it means ? It's a very serious and reliable source of info on Sting ! I don't hope new song, maybe another live ? or a participation to a charity album ?
Can't wait.

You're right Gina, I think it's the more likely possibility...

Of course! Look what happened 2 years ago. I never would've dreamed I'd see the guys play again - but then I got to see them 3 times, including MSG - due to the incredible generosity of the man himself.
So, anything is possible.....

This is almost as bad as 'being on hiatus' w/ long term beau......
....always (secretly) hopin', but putting on the realistic public face......
Still, will keep those fingers crossed and eat ALL my vegetables, even the squishy ones
!
Thnx for info!

Whatever will be, will be. Personally, I'm glad the reunion happened, and yet hope that's it, for all concerned. Something messy got tidied up, in a spectacularly good way, and now let it rest.
Steve, whatever happens, please continue to breathe, ok? Remember that last time round you'd have had to do without air for about 23 years. That can be detrimental to a person's health.

"On the same cd" ... let me put a bet down that they're going to each contribute something separately to some kind of compilation/charity disc...
I'm far too cynical to expect anything other than that!

I love THE POLICE, and that means als that I am not a pureist to only wants the old sound... I know the great capability of Stewart, Andy and Sting and for me is right that they could made another album an explore new sounds and style... I really want a new album or new songs... If they will do, definetely it will be a worldwide success and eats the entire world music market again

Interesting. While we're in wishful thinking mode, has anyone else seen the chatter over at stingus.net about a session player who claims they are working on a project with The Police:

I have no idea how reliable this source is but it kind of jives with what was posted here.
Stewart and Andy have been awfully quiet since the tour so who knows?

This might explain Stewart silence
(hoping)
It would be great for them to bring something out just to finish it off.
I guess we will just have to wait and see
we still have a book that is coming out this year
Thanks Stewart!
Cant wait to get my hands on that one

Since the "Reunion Tour" finished, I put some probabilities of a future about "The Police".... I told about they have the capability to make a new album, they have a huge audience around the globe and continue break down barriers and frontiers and makes money into the ndustry...so why not continuing... also I mentiones they could re-invented themselves not necesarry with their bands name...
In fact we know Andy, Stewart and Sting musically reunited are "The Police", So if they tried to maintain the legacy and historical position of "The Police" into the mainstream is okay to finish that chapter.. remember in the sixties or seventies some bands changes their names or re-invented to explore new horizons ( "Dantalion's Chariot" Andy's phsycodelic band) So why not if Andy, Stewart and Sting wants to explore new musical style and exploration with another label name?
They now they have the chemistry reunited into a band... Summers, Copeland and Sting are unique together... the magic is intact on the stage, why not into the studio and perhaps the success formula could continue again with new musical explorations... perhaps more mature .. So, if it happen set them free and not being more pureist than a Pope
