So the rumour is true...

THE POLICE EXPERIEINCE- LIVE IN TRINIDAD!!

What better way to warm up for our next home show in Hermosa Beach (April 18th- by the way) than by flying half way around the world and playing a warm up gig for a couple thousand of our newest, closest friends on a tropical island!!

OK- Let's do it!!

Saturday, April 4th
APRILFEST @ Pier 1
Chaguaramas, Trinidad
Show starts at 9pm!!

Sounds neat! Hopefully you'll have time to take a quick, cheap turboprop ride over to Tobago, which is a lot nicer than Trinidad for some snorkeliing, taking a glass-bottom boat tour (ask for Brother Mitch) and some time at the beach.

Be mindful of your surroundings though as crimes against tourists has increased there in recent years. I was there back in 2002 for a conference about a week after an American was murdered there during Carnival. Apparently, he had been robbed by a pick-pocket thief and went after the guy to get his wallet back.

Next time you gig in such a place, could you give us a couple of years' notice?

But flippin' heck. Nice work if you can get it. Enjoy it, sir!

That's a grim situation conroy, and a tragic incident. But in defense of holiday destinations everywhere, got to say this.

I once asked a guy who had been guiding me around a town in Tanzania, 'How safe is it at night, if I am out on my own.' His reply 'You are from London. Behave like this is London - keep to well lit streets, and if you are mugged, they just want your money, so hand it over.' I wasn't ever mugged, but he had a good point. Same thing everywhere. I wasn't mugged in Zanzibar - has happened twice in London.

thanks for the warning Conroy-

the thing is with these trips though is that there isn't enough time to go out and put oneself in danger- we fly in, rest, gig, and then leave so to make it back to L.A. in time for Sunday dinner.

I'll be lucky if I can just go and get in the water for a few minutes.

See you all April 18th!!

Great idea, Ska! I'd love to hear some Police covers on steel drums. Hmm.....

Have a great gig, Mike!

Any other exotic locales planned in the future?
