Just caught the tivo'd performances. Not much to add, except that i felt bad for a clearly beleaguered Sting. I'm thinking they might have been alotted one or two more numbers, but possibly opted to cut it short to save their singer's voice. I agree that there should have been more folks out on the stage for the big finale.

Glad you had a great time, DM!

Oh yeah, almost forgot. The experience won't be complete until i see policerule's video on youtube! I'm pretty indifferent to Kanye, but he does at least seem to have his heart in the right place. However, i can totally appreciate what's sure to be the overwhelmingly typical reaction from the average Police fan's perspective when he joins Stew and crew onstage. Godspeed, Conroy!

:D Thanks, DM, for your journalistic efforts. A day later, I have to laugh at myself a little because I got wrapped up in the show like a little kid....Kanye had the balls to go out there and wing it with one of the greatest bands of all time--I can't hate him for that. I'm in awe of The Police. They reign supreme. It was a great day! The largest and most satisfying musical buffet I've had in years. I bought my canvas grocery bags today. Can't afford a hybrid......

"Musical buffet" is a great description, neonhunter. I kept thinking of it like ordering a sampler plate -- you get to taste some stuff you've never tried before so that you can decide if in the future you'd like a little more.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Yes, mon. With me, it's like the scene at the end of "Almost Famous"--Q: "What do you love about music?"--A: "Well, for starters, EVERYTHING"        (new personal emoticon best)
I didn't hate MIAB, but then I don't hate Kanye and John Mayer like many do ,<giggle> and I actually posted earlier that I thought Kanye put on one heck of a show earlier, but its unmistakable that Sting sounded a bit taxed (more tea with honey!!).
Yeah, what was it in the rider I posted, Sting requires 75 lemons and a quart of honey in his dressing room before every show.

As much as I kid, I would so totally be his lemon and honey flunky, in a heartbeat.

Due to way too much weekend yardwork I missed most of the performances but, somtimes timing is everything and I happened to flop down on the couch just in time to catch the boys hitting the stage on Saturday night. They've come a long way since Vancouver....sounding great! I was hoping for a song or two more but can't complain.
Caught some highlights of the Wembley performances...Foo Fighters burnt down the house...awesome :!:

Stewart fucking kicked so much ASS that all the other drummers (except Taylor Hawkins) that day should have gotten on their knees and bowed to him!!!!

Stop getting so down on Stings voice. Yes he cracked a few times, but he has a couple of days rest, then two shows, then three days rest, then one show, then one day rest, then 2 shows. Don't sweat it. Heck, my show is the last one of the list of shows and I'm ok with it. Just as long as he takes it easy in Cleveland. I'm not expecting it to be perfect simply because he's 56 years old for christ sake.

Andy,...well if you have any questions of his ability after watching him Saturday, then you are a clueless police fan. What he is doing this tour is better than anything he has ever done in all the Police tours leading up to this one. Stellar!

I'm pretty sure that if they could replay the the MIAB song again it would definately not include Kanya. He was a friggin' nighmare. And his banter pretty much confused the rest of the band. He was off beat with what was being played. I don't care if he is good with what HE does, he sucks ass with what other people do. Especially The Police's style of music. It doesn't mesh.

I think if Stew could have gotten off his drum kit he would have kicked him in the ass right off the stage. Or at least that would have been my fantasy.

And that's all I have to say about that.

How about John Mayer's contribtuions? He was like a kid in a candy store... playing with his heros. I saw him in the audience on the 3rd show in Vancouver, glanced his way as I walked past toward my seat, feeling excited that we're all sharing in the thrill of experiencing the Police live - whether we're professional musicians or not!

thanks!

i think i called KW a "bitch" actually
Yelling "get off the stage, bitch!" at KW...priceless. This is my favorite post on this site in the year or so I have been visiting. I couldn't help but laugh for several minutes because this is what I was thinking during the last half of the song!!! NICE!
