Hey all (still on a slow Net connection and haven´t read the entire thread, apologies if this has been mentioned already.) One tradition resurrected by TPT´s fabulous OutlandoGirl has been asking folks to take a number, starting at the front of the line.

At the Whisky gig, we actually wrote numbers on our hands. Thanks to this scheme, most of us got good spots right up front.

Hey, it´s only fair that people who got there early are rewarded for the effort.

I was thinking the same thing. I am staying in the IE the night before the event, so it will take me maybe 1 1/2 to 2 hrs to get to Hollywood, so i was hoping that it would be ok if I got there at 10. But now, I'm not so sure. Damn that F@#$king CNN.

I wish I could.
It is her job to spread entertainment news to the masses.
The release was sent to her by a woman at Dish Communications - The Police Tour via a blanket email at 2pm LA time today.
It probably went to all the media outlets.
Sorry :(

F@#$%king people doing their f@#$%king jobs! Hate'm! Why couldn't she just waste all of her time on a forum for an awesome drummer and then just kind of forget to do what she was supposed to do . . . like the rest of us?!?

[The list of expletives becomes longer and more severe]

KALYPSO'S LAMENT.

I guess it's not the year of Stewart and yours truly...
I cannot come to LA in the morning, as it's a fucking Thursday, and as those who work under hard pressure know, I am naturally in the heat of a tight deadline project, so I was thinking of taking an early afternoon flight and getting there by 5 or 6 PM. I even thought Burbank instead of LAX because it is apparently closer.
I see now that my plan was seriously flawed.
There was a first alarm signal in Mike telling us that normally you have to be there at 10 AM to get in when there is a big event (and I know there is many people who would rather go to a Paris Hilton appearance than to the GC, so my hope was that this would be kept among a smaller crowd, let's say about 200 or 300 people, that is drummers, normal GC customers, press and LA Copeland/Police Fans..wait a sec...that already would be much more than that).
Then the CNN press thingie. This is going to become the release of the new Xbox or Harry Fucking Potter alright.
OK, time to wake up. I won't be able to make it inside. I don't care about being among the first 100 for the signature or the Anthology, which I already ordered, but about getting close to the damned table and say THANK YOU in person to my favorite musician. 15 seconds. NFW.
I have given this thought, despite my deadlines.
What to do? Implore every sc.netter who is going to make it, DG, Equalizer, Irishrose, hopefully someone else: please make a sign asking for another chance of a concert for West Coasters...Or ask the Man himself if you get those 15 seconds. I know HE would do it, I know it does NOT depend on him only, but letting him know that there is demand could maybe make a dent in Sting's stone heart.

Damn.
Fuck.
Shit.
Sorry to anybody who is offended by cussing. I am going to boycott CNN from now on.         [/u][/b]

So you're not even going to try to come? Do you think that you'd get stoned by the other people in line if one of us SCnutters held a place for you? I was hoping that people would be agreeable to the number thing, which I think was suggested by either Dive or DM. In that case, one of us would just take a second number, saying we were waiting for a friend.
