Aw, it's all good. Truly I don't think it's my job to try to run things around here - not the least reason is that Gio, Eugenio & Lady P do a terrific job - but you can't really know how things have been historically on a website if you're brand new and nobody has told you.

Portnoy, I think I speak for a couple of us when I say it was nice of you to ask what the community norms have been on political speech. It may interest you to know that we have at least a couple of confirmed right-wingers on here and that I suspect most of us believe that reasonable people can disagree on these topics. Thanks on the avatar thing too...your efforts are appreciated.

I have (very) strong opinions on some of these issues myself - I, er, got into a brawl on this topic on TPT before I realized it's actually against community standards over there to post political threads. It was the same sort of deal - I just got tired of reading a couple people's political diatribes going unaddressed. I just wish someone at TPT would actually enforce the community guidelines, because things occasionally get ugly over there, but that's a subject for another day.

I join the group in stating that you guys are pretty well the best bunch o' invisible friends ever (even though some of you are downright 3-D these days). Thanks for helping us all stay united as One Nation Under a Groove, since I think that's how most people here prefer things to run day to day.

Div, I guess it's interesting to know there are a couple of confirmed right wingers on here,but not to me,as I'm not one. I can only hope that in the future you will be as diligent about other peoples political diatribes as you were with my inquiry, my avatars (ha-ha). I'm glad to see things getting back to the fun and the music.
