Thanks for the heads up police fan and luna (via e-mail). Mother nature aint no music lover, is she? I received an e-mail from DSO explaining refunds and the such. I imagine anyone who ordered a ticket will get the same.

Well, that just blows. On the bright side (if there is one), I won't have to worry about arriving late or running to try and meet up with the other Nutters. I say we dine, drink and chill out.

Definitely! Hopefully by tomorrow night the roads will be better and more places will be open.

The big story on tv here has been how this will affect the Super Bowl. They've interviewed Pittsburgh and Green Bay fans who said "This is great football weather! We're used to it!" I think I speak for everyone else when I say "Bite me".

Travel update: Conroy emailed a little while ago and said he was boarding at Denver, so he's 2/3 of the way here.

[quote="policefan"]Oh no,
I am sorry to hear that the Thursday performance is cancelled : (

Well, you got the news out before me, but yes tomorrow's performance is canceled. I am told that they will accommodate Thursday ticket holders to go either Friday or Saturday but it's on a first come basis. You can do this online or we're sure you can call the ticket office at 214-692-0203

Unfortunately, we do not have information on refunds if you could only attend Thursdays performance (i.e., if you came in from out of town). Sorry for the inconvenience and D'Drum hopes to see you Friday or Saturday if you can make it.

On a lighter note, D'Drum rehearsed their parts with Jaap van Zweden and he loved it. They are set to rehearse with the orchestral tomorrow--sounds like the weather has definitely changed rehearsal scheduling along with the performances.

If you have that info, please share! D'Drum couldn't tell me anything about that, just the news on using your Thursday tickets for Friday or Saturday.

Or I can click on the link that was provided and read, DUH!

"Ticket holders for Thursday’s concert can come on Friday or Saturday and be seated in a best-available seat. Or ticket holders for Thursday can exchange for another Texas Instruments Classical Series concert. The DSO asks that you call the box office NEXT WEEK to exchange your tickets because — a familiar plight today — the weather has made them short-staffed at the moment."

Dane, I've a question for you now that I'm thinking past Thursday. When is Friday's meet and greet? Before or after the concert? Or has that been affected by the cancellation of Thursday's performance? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
We haven't finalized anything yet, but us travelling Nutters are determined to have one heck of a "Where's the Gamel-gone?" party on Thursday in lieu of the concert. If you'd like to join us, you're more than welcome, and we'll keep you in the loop. I recall it's your birthday Thursday and you may have other plans, but if not, we'll make it a birthday to remember.

Right now I do not now of the status of the meet and greet. A questions has been posed to my buddy in D'Drum and he hasn't gotten back to me yet. I will update you as soon as I know. Friday's show starts at 7:30 and I'm told it last 60 to 90 minutes.

As far as the hang tomorrow, I'm up for it but my schedule may be nutty. I'll know better tomorrow as well. This weather has put many things in flux and I'm battling a head cold coming on and my wife is not doing too hot herself. So, I may be spending tomorrow in recuperation or I may also be doing a gig tomorrow (yes, on my birthday) because I plan to go to Saturday's show and I've had to switch things around. Because of the weather, said gig may be out.

More later--thanks for asking and for the invite!

Thanks for doing your best to keep us informed. I hope you and your wife get well quickly and the weather insanity dissipates. Happy birthday!

Thanks for the birthday wish!

I have an update: the meet and greet is on! The show is an early start, no intermission and they will be in the lobby afterwards to talk with you. So, if you are going Friday or weren't sure which night to switch your Thursday to, there's is now a bonus!

This morning I feel like crap. I'm supposed to go a gig tonight and it's at a place that is hosting large Superbowl parties and if I still feel like this later, no gig for me.
