The FLAG of Copelandia Anthem - a BongoBoy song.

Postby Throb on 20 Sep 2007 20:33

Awesome job.
Coming into work and hearing that and seeing User Stewart online and posting made my day.

If there is a DVD of the tour with flag footage the song should be the music cue! :D
Have we got touchdown

I think it is just my sucky connection.
Totally addicted to it now. :)[/quote]

The link doesn't work for me either, EQ.

But here are the lyrics and guitar chords as sent to me by BB earlier: http://tinyurl.com/2pskor

So cool bro, really great!

Well, it's your time my friend!

I guess each one of us got the chance to 'emerge' for creativity and ideas here at SC.net.... we're all a great bunch of artists, creators, poets, writers, flag-builders, flag-bearers....

Stewart must be proud of his brigade!

Congrats Bongo...let's hope that this time someone from Reuters will talk about it in the right direction! Everyone's listening here.

long time reader, first time poster,

but this was way too good to not post a response to.

I downloaded this right away and its now (kind of) screaming through my dorm room. I wonder if people will get annoyed.

I'm kind of already "That girl that loves those old guys". I was about to kill someone for referring to The Police as "those old guys".

Damn college kids :)

WOW ! I can't handle all the positive praise ! heh,heh.

I hope you guys are into it when I post some of my non-anthem songs.

Why is it my big music inspirations are always the Police connected through the years?.

In 1982 Stewart made me wake up and want to play drums, then Klark Kent was an eye-opener...I could play all the instruments to my own songs? Bought an analog studio made a CD Spiritual Mirror (means soul mate). Now I have a MacG4 and Pro Tools.

then a couple of years ago I stumble on this site and e-mail GIO about where to send my CD (those other songs on myspace) and then I was hooked.

and now as my refelctive times set in..Boom! I get all this encouragement.

I know it's just a rough typical song....but it's that same feeling when I released my CD in 1997. Feels like achievment...not a library job today.

Thanks.

Spec A! glad you heard it!
I think of you as a "precise drummer" and I am.....uh...not.

In my defense, that is not my best drumming thankfully. I had a whole different thing going on but it was turning into some epic monster....so I "reggaefied" it.....ahh, fits like a glove. I just said the heck with it and put it up before one of the other creative SC nutter weasils wrote one!

I ain't done yet.....you'll see.....SKA MAN could probably guess.

You people have made my day !

OH and I don't know why the lyrics don't show for some, it's OK here and at work. I'll see.

Thanks DM...you rock !

I should have done a mass e-mail..heh...just download and share.

I love that some of you are playing it!

I'll post the lyrics here tommorrow.

or I could post it now:

THE FLAG OF COPELANDIA SEPT 19 2007
(Words and music and performance by Russ Feltis.)

We all hail the flag of Copelandia,
We all hail the flag of Copelandia,
(C,F,C,G) Chorus
As it goes from show to show,
And it’s going places we wished we’d go
(F,C,G)

All the fans that gather at Stewart Copeland dot net,
Paying tribute to the artist and to show some respect,
We all have our handles and our nicknames are flash,
(C,F,C,G)
So Moeskido made a flag, Dirty Martini, sent-it-fast!
(F C G)
Chorus

So here’s to the Rhythmatist in his chariot of blue,
Now a green silhouetted logo, seems to be, follow-ing-you!
(C,F,C,G) (F C G)

Chorus

So many true SC netters sign the flag one by one,
To represent us all as it flutters, and then we’ll ship it to you when you’re done,
From shore to shore the green and white shrine flies,
Held high or to the aisle, no asshats, here-re-side !
(C,F,C,G) (F C G)

Chorus

The Flag of Copelandia …FLAG !

BB.
