European Kick Off!

Postby OutlandoGirl on 30 Aug 2007 17:11

Someone on TPT who sang with the band at Dodger Stadium said that during the soundcheck, Sting had an assistant who came out to put sunscreen on his face and rub it in. What a job!!! (It sounds decadent, but I'm sure it was only to keep his bass playing hands non-slimey).

Anyway, if Sting can have a sunscreen servant, Stew should get a headband helper.
It was great to get home for a break but verrry nice to be back with my buddies playing this music. So eager was I to get onstage that I FORGOT my headband! And it's hard to dab my face with a towel because of the mic thing. See y'all out there!

(Jose, I'm working on Lima but I dunno...)
Woooooow! Cool Stewart! All what I read and see about the tour is outstanding, nowadays I am posting a Blog in spanish about "The Police" and all what I found in different official sources is an interesting story to be picked by someone in a future for making a biographie film about yours... It have all the ingredients to success... nice parts I discover was that you build by your own for running the band... from downfloor to the stars...another clever thing is how you all find in differents situations for joining at last for making your famous "Line Up" ...

About LIMA, well all runs perfect here, in spite of the fact an 8,0 erathquacke felt me surfing earth... The National Stadium (50,000 people capacity) is in perfect condition it just passed an inspection, the same with the other one called "Monumental" ( 80,000 people capacity) Lima don't suffered any devasted or critic situation, is safest in their 98%...the most devastating situation is located in "Ica" ( a peruvian state south of Lima )... Hope you could come to my country and delightfull peruvian fans with your incredible "Show"... and hope you taking a time for visiting "Machu Picchu" and feel the ancient culture of the Inca's and you playing some "CAJON" ( the BOX ) with some natives musicians form CHINCHA (where that percussion instrument born) by the way is an afroperuvians instrument and CHINCHA ( a town of ICA) is one of the "Towns" devastated by the Earthquacke...

Regards and my best vibes for you, Andy & Sting!

JOSE

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! FUCK DAWEASEL AND I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE O THE FLAG OF COPELANDIA!!!!

ok, I can never sleep or travel by plane until the end of the tour- which logistically will make it very hard to get to Cardiff and NZ, not to mention CHAlloween!

15 hours travelling yesterday, collapse in a heap, get up and I missed Stewart! sob.sob.

But so glad he stopped by :)
Can't wait to hear HOLE and keep reading all the Euro reports- it's so awesome!

I have to not have coffee handy while reading the posts- almost spewed it all over my shiny new MB Pro when i saw Stewart's post!

WOOOO HOOOO!

Maybe DM, we should ship headbands along with the flag- so we can throw one to Stew if he ever forgets his again. I don't want him to stop playing to wipe his face!

How funny, I was clicking thru LaraMay's friends awesome pics and thought the same thing before I read all this. Wow, we are a bit obsessed, aren't we? :)

M, I would certainly say so. Stewart can afford to buy all of Nike's best headbands. He does not need an assistant putting it on..maybe somebody reminding him to put it on...

Sting, poor pansy, he grew up in sunless Newcastle and needs sunscreen...How can you put on sunscreen while playing bass?
But you certainly can wipe your forehead while playing with all your 4 limbs! No sunscreen necessary when you come from Beirut...8)

But you know how it goes -- the headband has to go on first; otherwise the tangle of wires will be caught inside the headband. Throwing headbands at Stewart after the fact would just be cruel -- kinda like the tampon scene in Carrie.

I can always remind Stewart when I give him his Flag location hints -- but I may have to start charging him a consultant's fee.

For the record, the Tampon Scene really happened with L7, if any of you was following music in the 90s. Ask Donita Sparks.

Maybe it's the zucchini in the white trouser action- ahem - but it won't stop being LARGE on here.

I'll keep trying..... ;)

Is it a mark of maturity to have one's fans lobbing terrycloth headbands at one instead of lace thongs  ?

Off topic. But can people swing by Jose's 'Hey STEWART' thread. I had an idea - probably bad, as I'm no good with logistics and practicalities (DM?) - but given our collective brainpower perhaps we can come up with something really useful.

How about terrycloth thongs? Sexy yet functional.

DM's got her hands over-full as it is, but she'll be happy to support whatever you guys might come up with.

Did we even have thongs we could throw last time round?

Thongs are nasty...I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of them. Plus, they give you yeast infection.
Where are the cute lacy French thingies of lore??? Personally, I'd throw my Wonderbra...
