'The Derby is Decadent & Depraved": Reports from KY
Just release the live CD now; the Churchill Downs show was it!!
Even though I wasn't there, I ridiculously disagree!

MIAMI was the bomb baby. Stewart was on fire all night long (maybe the flag visable in the front row helped fuel the fire?). That has my vote for dvd or cd ALTHOUGH I'll meet you halfway and request a double live disc: Disc One - Miami / Disc Two - Louisville :D

Just being silly of course!

I will definitely not have Internet access from the 18th or so through the 26th, and I may not have it much until August 4.

I know, I'm going to go nuts...but then, I think a spell out in the middle of the Pacific and away from pretty well everything ain't a bad suggestion every now and again. (I'm going diving in the Galapagos for a week, then going to Lima - where I will meet Jose! - going to Machu Picchu, then sailing down the Amazon. And I have had pretty well the full complement of vaccinations for creepy crawlies this month...)

I hereby deputize any of you to buy me tickets to the awesome Police Fan Club show that will of course be announced the minute I leave, and oh yeah - you guys can have the tix to the Unplugged taping that I will win the minute I step on the plane. ;) Here's hoping, anyway...

Be safe DIVE! Oh and do you have time for a more in-depth review of L-ville before you go? You're probably rushing around like I was in Florida! I can relate!! :!:

I'll really try. And if I can't, I'll write something on the plane to Miami and try to post it before I leave for Quayaquil.

Just uploaded a boodle of photos...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/likelite/

The lovely ladies in the first two photos are Arecev and Tmankster from TPT.com.

Sorry about the ugly disclaimer in the middle of all of them, but what with reporters running amok in here and ruining the fun for everybody, I thought I'd better. I've also removed them from the public feed and disabled them from appearing in the Flickr.com search engine. Non-disclaimered versions available to friends of mine after I get back from Peru on Aug. 5. -Dive

p.s. I took these with a non-SLR handheld camera. Lemme know if I need to remove them, which I may do in a couple days anyway.

AWESOME pics dive... but I'm going to miss you SO MUCH! Hope you have an incredible time and that no nasty beasties burrow into your leg and lay eggs. Or something equally horrific. OR I could just say something really encouraging and positive couldn't I?! Duh! It'll be beautiful and a once in a lifetime experience - I can't wait to see all your photos.

What FABULOUS pics! Particularly the Stewart standing up doing percussion ones. Wrapped Around Your Finger, right? I was thrilled when the screens were on him for so much of the song.

Have a great trip!

An article from Kentucky.com on the concert:

http://www.kentucky.com/music/story/124201.html

My favorite quote:

"For Wrapped Around Your Finger, Copeland replaced keyboard accents with the clattering of chimes and rumblings of timpani to create rhythms best described as an evil twin to bossa nova."

Bossa nova's evil twin, heh heh.

Just read about your trip.

Wow ! You really know how to travel, very nice.

That will be a very interesting trip...the diving must be awesome? I am not a diver but I love photography and I bet you have the ole "plastic cased" waterproff camera set up.....Way Cool !

As I drudge away on a Monday morning and read about where you are going I can't help but think...in my life.....I should have never "taken that left at Alabkerky" !

That's a Bugs Bunny reference from my "yout" !

Have fun O Swimmy One !

Thanks, folks. I've got some others from prior shows, but here's the thing...

I teach underwater photography. As such, I'm a decently good photographer. We're technically not supposed to have cameras at these things, although I've heard the 'no cameras' clause applies mostly to removable-lens professional grade SLR cameras.

I don't want to go publicly posting good shots of the band and enable some slime to use them without getting permission from the managers. So I've been trying to think up a way to share 'em without risking that. Reducing the size and resolution helps, I know.

I strongly suspect we need an SC.net permission-based gallery on Flickr.com. I'll work on it when I get home.

I'll miss all you guys too Hannah! Will check in when I can. I suspect there'll be some options in Lima...I'm not out of pocket for another couple days though. Although, I should be packing, so if you catch me in here a bunch today, slap my wrists!

[Whoops! I missed your well-wishes, BB! Let me know if you ever want to learn to get wet in a serious fashion, I am licensed and certified...certified for what, I'll let you wonder...;)]

Now, THAT is a review. Love the "This was a reunion that shouldn't have worked -- " ...like there was ever any doubt that it WOULD work, and that it would be better than anyone could have expected!

EXCELLENT pictures, Divemistress, btw...it was great to see those.

Great idea, dive. Flickr allows private groups, so it shouldn't be too hard to set up, especially with a tab-delim or comma-delim list of the userids, if there's a way to import that list without entering them manually. One challenge is gonna be maintaining that userid list as more people join SC.net.

Cool photos. Setwart is wearing the same tight white pants he was wearing in St. Paul.

This stuff needs careful analysis.
