Twickers......

Postby Dietmar on 09 Sep 2007 07:04

my plans for today:

Lawrence Impey exhibition around 12 or 1pm
Twickenham pub around 3 or 4pm
some gig

Kate: I'll wear the green POLICE army jacket with a DIETMAR nametag.

In case we'll miss each other until the concert then I'll wait for you at the big gate with the statues after the gig / I guess you've seen this.

(sorry to hijack the thread peeps)

Dietmar -

I will look for your first at the FRONT of your section. I can hand the flag over to you from the pitch from there. We are the same side of the stage, so it should be easy. And I can get to you really quickly!

If we miss each other there. Then yes - big gate by the statues. Don't know where it is yet, but I will before the fun starts tonight.

see you later

Hey guys... what happened.?

I kept looking for the flag but I didn't see it! I guess it's not so easy to spot afterall when you are in the middle of 110,000 waving arms!

See DM that's why I'm a freak (In the nicest possible way!!)

I had the shoes and the socks

http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z279 ... oes001.jpg

I had the t shirt

http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z279 ... ert002.jpg

I even had the watch and belt!!!!

Oh and a bag!!

Yep freak!!!!

But all the others were lovely and kindly spoke to me!!!

I promise not to wear so much today (mainly coz I didn't break the shoes in and couldn't walk to get home...... But the rest is coming!!!)

Very early in the set Sting went over to Andy and said something..... They both looking into the crowd and Andy laughed..... I think Sting must have said something about that darn flag!!!

I had a crap seat last night but it was okay as I wasn't supposed to be there but what I did see was all the older people around me up on their feet dancing and singing and having great fun...... meanwhile the 2 younger guests (late teens early twenties) sat down!!!! Oh the tables have turned!!!

Now...... was it only me or has anyone else had trouble spotting the songs from the intros?

On just about all of them I had no idea what they were!!! (am I being thick?)

Bless daftart.... We went off the the fan club show together and she was so worried about the flag......

I can't let anyyone get hold of it! I can't be an asshat..... I hope Stewart sees it......

DM we all took the flag bearing duties very seriously..... you would have laughed at us! We stood like guards around the flag when it came to signings! and all took turns, Hannah would say 'don't write too big' Smudge would say ' only your name location and date' daftart would be shouting ' no beer or cigarettes near the flag' and I would stand and growl!!!!

Very funny but of course very serious!!!

Wow! Wow! Wow!

I just had the most amazing day ever! Iain and I got off the train at Twickenham and a pub near the Cabbage Patch was blasting out Bring on the Night! It was an emotional moment! Synchronicity if you will! LOL! Found Hannah and co very easily due to Hannah's lovely red hair. I really enjoyed meeting everyone, Hannaha, Dafttart, Smudge, Kimmy, FeralKid and his girlfriend. Iain was in his element with fellow devotees, and he and Feralkid were having a lovely good-natured bout of one-up-manship in terms of little seen Police footage and facts! Bizarrely enough, Dafttart and I discovered we have a mutual friend! What are the odds? Kimmy won the prize for most Police things on a person's body! Amazing! And Hannah, I wish I had the legs to wear those shorts!

The concert itself was phenomenal! I sang along to almost every word - impressing Iain, seeing as I've only had a 6 month crash course of Policification! I thought they played brilliantly - and loved it when Stewart threw his sticks around! Saw the flag easily from our second tier half way line vantage point! I bet the planes coming into Heathrow could see it too! And loved it when Stewart did the double point at the end! Just speechless! Literally - I have nearly lost my voice this morning! Don't know how Sting does it every night! Well I'd better get gargling as I get to do it all again tonight! Whooo hoooo!

We're not bothering with Fiction Plane tonight, but hopefully will be there in time for Mazimo Park who were rather good I thought!

Thanks to the forum members we met for making us so welcome, it helped make the experience even more memorable.

Great great photos by the way!

Right, off to gargle some lemsip or something!

BRING ON THE NIGHT! AGAIN! :o

Brilliant! Now THAT's what I'm talking about! Excellent job as Flag-Bearers (and Flag-Growlers), ladies!

And daft, you did Copelandia proud last night. Thank you for your dedication and diligence, soldier.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.
