WHO LOVES THE FINAL COUNTDOWN [Real Projectile Vomit Icon Missing]?

I know that the 80s are back, but Xrist!!!!!
Talking Heads!
Soft Cell!
Madness!!
B52s!!
XTC!!
Even friggin U2!

There were some good bands in the 80s, for goodness'sake!!!

If I have to take a Power Ballad from the 80s (present hosts excluded, of course)
I'd always take Wanted Dead or Alive over anybody else!

Talking Heads. That was a band. I read somewhere that Adrian Belew recorded ALL of his guitar parts on Remain in Light in JUST ONE DAY. If you are familiar with the album, I think that deserves a HOLY MOTHER OF CRAP!

I am, EQUA, I am...I live in SF. FM radio does not play any other band....

I like the Nervous Wreck David Byrne thing. However, once I saw a live take of Psycho Killer. I think I never saw a worse live singer. Not even Anthony Kiedis. The song is great, and luckily now Velvet Rehab have done a cover with a more than decent vocal by Scotty Weiland 8)

I luv Talking Heads and The B's.
I would be first in line for a T.H. tour.

I love Annie Lennox and Eurythmics too. I know they're all synthy and pop. But, she's got a crystal clear voice.

Maybe Byrne is just an acquired taste live. Stop Making Sense and especially The Name of This Band is Talking Heads is pretty f'ing good IMHO.

Of course, this is coming from a guy who has never like Page live. A GOLDEN GOD in the studio but so nervous and, uh, other things live that I just can't get into him live. And I have tried. The double Led Zeppelin DVD that came out a few years ago is much better than The Song Remains the Same, but still its hard to watch his so so live performances when you know how magical he is in the studio.

(Man, I'm asking for it today)

I Feel Your Pain, EQ. The Chair boyfriend was a rabid Jimmy Page fan and we saw TSRTS together 22 times! I can tell you every photogram, apart from the Moby Dick dragster thing when I usually went to the bathroom or the concession stand.
I love Jimmy Page and LZ, but all that aerial shit was just ludicrous! As it was the concept of the movie and the non/musical parts.

Sam I like Annie Lennox. She deserves to be there just for Sweet Dreams. The only faux pas IMHO was when she ruined Under Pressure by trying to make up with Bowie in a raccoon mask at the Freddie Mercury memorial. Otherwise, she and Dave Stewart (can't go wrong with that surname) are fine musicians.

Yeah, the raccoon mask was a bit much. But, I love that duet. I was watching my tape of that concert not too long ago. It was a nice tribute.
Freddie was such a talent and a great showman. Speaking of Lars Ulrich. I think Metallica was there, Gary Cherone and ?? (can't think of them) and Lisa Stansfield. Everyone was in 80's clothes. Flashback-a-palooza!

My friend, Carole, and I ran into Brian May in London last fall when. He came into the restaurant we were having dinner in. Queen is Carole's favorite band so she was all flustered but we had a nice little chat. He's a bloody brilliant guitarist!

Brian May is smooth, a fine individual and a genius guitarist who invented a style [not to mention self-built his guitars].
I remember how he went on playing all through the memorial holding his arm from the pain. Hero! I was in a Birmingham hotel with a broken jaw [I had fallen from a city train the day before...but that's another Kaly story]. I remember crying when Bowie, Mick Ronson, Joe Elliott of Def Leppard and a lot more came on stage and sang All the Young Dudes...
I remember Lista Stansfield in curlers and satin shorts...
