SC @ Guitar Center 8/16/07... A good time was had by all!!

Postby TheEqualizer on 17 Aug 2007 18:12

policerule, it will be awhile until IrishRose gets back to you as she is driving back to New Mexico today (an 11 hr drive), so I suspect the first post form her will not be until Saturday at the earliest.

Regardless, I was right behind her in line, and I know she and Stewart spoke about the shirt. She specifically mentioned that you made it. Stewart really liked the shirt, he said. Stewart also made other comments about the shirt (something about Colorado?) but Irish Rose could not comprehend what he was saying. She was so emotional and in tears. The people in line were kept about 15 feet back from the table, which allowed each fan a real sense of privacy with Stewart. As a result, I really could not hear more.

Still just kind of waking up. Will post more later. I made a post about this one fan who came out from Houston at ThePolice.com ifyou want to see that.

Also, when I was having Stewart sign my snare, a bunch of photos were taking my picture. If anyone sees a pic of this (I was wearing a Leroy Coolbreze shirt; the only one in the line), let me know. Damn, the person in front of me (Irish Rose) and the three people behind me (Laz, the dude from Houston, and his friend) all show up on Getty and WireImage but not me! I was the only one with visible tube socks, too! :(

No worries, I hate having my picture taken, but I know I don't look at all like in my pictures, so I get it and won-t think you really look like your pic.

If that is your child, you must look good!

Actually, my daughter is just lucky that Mrs. Equalizer is really good attractive to offset my contribution to her gene. It appears that fugly must be a recessive gene.
LAZ, would that be you in Getty images 76142171 and 76142202?
In picture #76145235 you can see he has the Sharpie pointed away from him per DM's instructions.

Tee hee. Always so good at following instructions, Stewart.

Although I'm mildly disappointed. No security rough-ups. No stalkers. No fire hoses. Nothing thrown through windows. Not even an unpaid parking meter.

Sigh.
Where? Actually I don't see myself at all at the GettyImages site...
that was about it - no craziness whatsoever.
BOOOOOO!!! Kome on, Kalifornia! You're supposed to be the krazy state! It's so un-rock 'n' roll when SC's publicist is the most scantily clad of the bunch.

Aw, come on! He's the Freshmaker(tm)!

Sounds like Stewart is speaking in code again. Sounds to me like either

a. he was cold and wanted someone to turn down the air conditioner
b. "Colorado" was really "color combo" -- i.e., he was commenting on the t-shirt's urine-and-sadness color scheme
c. the bright psychedelic hues brought back fond memories of being Rocky Mountain High

Laz, at the Getty site, do a general "Stewart Copeland" search. (I can't give a direct link unfortunately.) You'll find those two pics that might be you on the first page.

Laz, your photos are not in the main link posted. On Getty, type in Stewart Copeland as a search term. You wil see additional photos including 2 of you. Joe from Texas is there as well as Joe's friend getting the pick guard signed. Did you see that he went through the line twice? By the way, do you think James has stopped talking yet?

As to Stewart, he was certainly not talking in code. I just think that Irish Rose's brain turned to mush while talking to Stewart and so she was incapable of comprehending English.

Got a great pic of Laz next to Stewart's drum kit (head leaning against the bass drum) that I will post after my vacation. Its a little dark but I will try to lighten it. We also got pics of us with Stewart's ride with the Paiste guy.

Hey, I'm Rocky Mountain High every day. 8)

Maybe he was saying The Police were going to be playing another show in Denver, Colorado (pleasepleaseplease!).

I'm really curious now.
