Burn down the City of Brotherly Love, STEWART!!!

Sockii echoed a lot of my very sentiments.

As always, it is great meeting people and putting faces to their screen names. Animal, Donna from NJ, and Moeskido were a lot of fun to hang out with along with everyone else I'd met previously.

The tube socks definitely attact a lot of attention as people were contantly coming up to us at the McFaddens gathering and asking up about them which of course gives us the opportunity to preach the Gospel of Coplandia and they got looks all night long. And they wound up being very comfortable to wear! And I gave sockii and vespapod a private show of the Pink Floyd boxers at sockii's house which she captured with her camera.

I agree that indoor venues are better all around. Even though we had decent seats, the speakers blocked the view of the screens on the stage and the ones to the side, which were the only ones we could see, showed too much of sting and not enough of andy and especially Stewart during the songs where he was working his wizardary with the fancy percussion setup.

And they seemed more playful than ever last night. When they came out for the encore, Sting and Stewart were walking behind Andy in unison while Andy was playing.

And I love sockii's comment about the traveling convention that this tour has become for us. My next show most likely won't be until the MSG show on Halloween so I am definitely going to be go through withdrawl until then especially because I will miss meeting all the wonderful people from here!

All in all, it was another magical night on the magcical mystery reunion tour!

my favorite song was definately walking in the room, er i mean walking on the moon....definately liked indoor versus outdoor but outdoor had a bellet light show so to speak. i had a great time with the philly crew and i definately think it was a more jammin concert than Dallas....they are getting it down like the old days. I was yapping to sockii so I missed Sting talking about playing Grendals lair in philly in the late 70's, hope to catch it on a download but glad for the memories by the band. Stu was fantastic as usual, Andy was definately kicking it up a notch and Sting is hangin tuff

ok... so i can't believe you are up this early and on the computer sockii...

ugh! i am at work, hungover and without voice. last night is a blur. it is too bad that i didn't get to meet the rest of you and definitely unfortunate that i didn't get a peek at conroy's undies. boohoo.

met animal and donna though and that was cool. i had my mother in tow and 2 friends whom i didn't want to drag all over the stadium meeting everyone, so i'll just have to catch up with you guys at the other venues!

i was floored last night! i only remember jumping, screaming and singing - so much that i think the people in front of me were considering gagging me.

i saw stewart pointing his way down the crowd toward the flag although i did not notice that you guys had arrow flags! i'm sure that is what that was all about now that i know they were there. he was definitely looking for it!

my 60 year old mother did not stop moving the whole time she was there! danced her ass off! all i could do is keep shoving my three fingers in her face - meaning, THAT IS ONLY 3 GUYS UP THERE MAKING THAT GLORIOUS SOUND! all 3 of them were fantastic & sting's voice really sounded great! i have carefully been avoiding concert footage until my first show so that i was fresh when i finally saw them. i did catch the live earth show and his voice was really strained, so it was great to hear him really hitting everything! andy & stewart were incredible! did anyone notice that when sting said their names that stewart got the loudest audience response? i totally heard that on my end. there are a lot of closet copelandians out there....

there was alot of crowd singing going on and at times i could hear everyone almost as loud as the band! sockii is right about outside venues... they don't sound as good as indoor, but it was incredible anyway. my seats were also to the side and we sat in them for about 3 songs and then made our way around the park to a better post and took over a spot at a railing table and monitor for our viewing pleasure. again, i think i pissed of a few people by BANGING ceaselessly on the table to the drums. i think i actually hurt my hand because it is a little sore this morning. blind stinking drunk at my first police concert... i have a burn on my arm and my entire body hurts. you know you had a good time when you can't walk the next day!

next 2 shows are on the floor for me & one indoor and one outdoor venue, so i'm looking forward to hearing and seeing them in better position. also looking forward to meeing everyone when i don't have to beat rush hour traffic and park.

i'm tired and don't know what else to say! good night.... snore... (cracks head when it plummets to the desk & she passes out)

now i only have to stay awake long enough to pick up my harry potter book tonight at midnight and read it through to the morning. cheers!

What can I add to the reports....

Stew the octoban king on Roxanne jam unfreakingbelievable. It was definitely 30 secs or more.

a few stick points don't remember which song.

He was definitely looking for the flag. At the end it seems he stayed on stage looked down, pointed, saw the flag signs and then looked over and pointed in the general vicinity.

That's what it looked like from my angle. I tried to get pix.

Thanks again to everyone for making my first & probably my only show a memorable experience.

It was great putting faces to the names. You guys rock.

Special thanks Dm for the flag schedule, and Sockii arranging the meet up.

The boy's are back.

Kick Ass in Hershey.

Seriously! I thought waking up at 10 just now was impressive. I obviously suck.

The gang have definitely captured the highlights, especially the glorious octobans in "Roxanne." WHOO-HOO! I think Stewart surprised even Sting at that moment!

"Driven" and "Voices/World" were smoking -- Andy was just fabulous all night. Moeskido just kept belting out whoops and "yeahs!" every time Andy soloed. (And yes, GSC -- I did send some extra love (in the form of mind-numbing wailing) to Andy for you.)

"Bed's" didn't quite gel last night -- the guys just didn't seem to hear each other until about halfway through. Once they hit it, it was lovely -- but it started off sounding unconnected.

"Magic" got the folks bouncing and bouncing -- was fabulous.

But it brings me to echo the stadium/arena sentiments: in addition to the reasons listed previously, the reason I prefer arena to stadium shows is because stadium audiences su-u-u-uck. Donna was in Row 9 directly in front of Stewart; I was in Row 8 directly in front of Sting -- yet both of us were seated in the Asshat Section.

I envy the Dodgers experience -- having that many people bonding together in the moment must be unbelievable. But when that many people show up to get drunk and stand like statues -- grr. WHY ARE YOU HERE, PEOPLE?!?

/end bitching. Thank you.

Anyway, the tempos were moving, the band energy was high, the band smiling with each other and poking at each other all night long.

I still adore "Footsteps" and noticed that rhythm change-up that sockii mentioned. (I remember it in Cleveland, but I think I forgot to mention it.) At various points Stewart was really giving those kettledrums a pounding -- and I'm pretty sure there was even a bit of octobans in "CSLY" as well. It really is incredible to watch the looks of pain/concentration/instinct/ecstasy/laughter while he plays. Just amazing.

Flag-spotting was pretty funny.

Because I knew that it would be really tough for Stewart to find Conroy, Moeskido made two big black arrows with the word "FLAG" written across them for me. (The outdoor stadium angles/sight lines are just too wonky and the lighting too difficult, I think, for the Flag to be spotted anywhere but the floor.) I gave one to Donna in the hope that Stewart would be able to follow the arrows to Conroy. Although he was able to bounce and scan from the one to the next, I don't think he was ever able to find that elusive third for the jackpot.

But he was definitely trying and was amused (if also a bit confused). My fave moment was when Stewart (I believe) first saw a flag arrow -- I saw him look into the audience in front of him and then burst into a laugh. I looked over, and there was Donna with the arrow flying. Yay, Donna.

The arrows failed miserably, but at least we tried. And I'm so glad that Conroy got to have Flag-Bearing duties. Yay, Conroy! (BTW, fyi to all: Conroy gives some of the greatest hugs ever.)

I too am loving this Traveling Konvention of ours. It's so wonderful to meet such lovely people in 3-D, especially Animal, Vespapod, and Sockii for the first time last night. What gorgeous folks you are! And -- if you don't mind me saying, honey -- Moeskido was touched and grateful to be welcomed into the fold so warmly.

I must say that my fave meeting moment yesterday had to be with Animal. I got out onto the patio, gave a hug to Conroy -- and maybe to sockii at that point, too? -- when I noticed some guy leaning toward me and staring with this nutso expression. I looked at him and said something to the effect of, "Who is this guy with the krazy eyes staring at me?" and he just smiled with a kind of "Come on, girl -- you can do it" face. It took me a second, but then I realized, "Animal!" and gave him a big hug. HA!

No pics here, either, I'm afraid -- rain and security worries, although it was probably for the best -- we had some 6-foot-10 asshole in front of us, so the pics would have been meh anyway.

Thanks again to you wonderful SC.netters, and thanks to sockii for getting all of us in one location. Sorry I didn't get to meet you PRule -- although fyi: SC ALWAYS gets the loudest audience response. Can you really blame them?

ETA: Animal, we MUST get you to another show! Please? For me?!? I have a flag . . .

Maybe someone will post a vid on YouTube of Stewart's confusion over the flag/arrows?

I really like the fact that Stewart is aware of your efforts and applaud all of you. The flag escapades are a blast to read.

I'm hoping to meet up with some of you folks. I'm going to the Atlantic City show. I hoped to go to the Garden shows, but will be away that week and I missed out on tickets for the October MSG show.
