aw, come on hannah, it's not that bad... we like the brits too!

strange with the time difference though. it feels like you're always here with us!
I think its cool when we have someone from Japan, australia, all us time zones and Great Britain on at the same time like we did last night!

"We are the World, We are the Children."
"One world is enough for all of us...."

Ah, I never did understand the Dr. Who thing. WTF? Are they on like the 10th Dr now? I just don't get it.

I'd heard about the crooked teeth and of course, I'd seen them. Then I was alittle surprised when I read both of Hermione's parents were dentists. Hmmm...maybe they just clean them and don't straighten them.
Stewart and Stanley together again!! YO!

These days all the kids get their teeth straightened but they didn't in my day - we were all more afraid of having braces than wonky teeth!

Sounds fascinating, Lynne. Has Elling ever recorded his poetry music? (I remember someone years ago putting Frost to music -- I sang on his "songs" with a chorus once.)

3/4,

Failing to fetch me at first keep encouraged,
Missing me one place search another,
I stop somewhere waiting for you.

Their (Kurt Elling Quartet) most recent CD, "Night Moves", has "The Sleepers", which is a Whitman, and "I Like the Sunrise", which is Rumi. In fact, "I Like the Sunrise" is my favorite song on the disc. I know the Steppenwolf thing was recorded, but I don't have a copy.

Interestingly, in the second set of their Wednesday night shows, sometimes they cut a little loose and sing covers of "Secret Journey" and "Tea in the Sahara". The first time we heard them do this I almost fell out of my chair, I was laughing so hard. It was brilliant. Kurt has a certain Sting-ness to him, minus the yoga and the lute :) .

D'oh. Thanks for the correction. I'll have to keep an eye out.

DM - I'd say it's torture, if it weren't so beatiful. Just seeing this side of you is freaking me out a bit. There's nothing left of me but a small green globule....just a stain really.

Funny. I thought that was kind of flattering.

Although it scares me to think what 3/4 thought of me before . . .

Am I really going to have to find the thread where I Keatsed Hannah?

BTW,

If we shadows have offended,
Think but this and all is mended:
That you have but slumbered here
while these visions did appear . . .

Oh yeah! Wasn't I sweet to you back then?!

I feel the need to compete and quote some poetry but only ee cummings comes to mind and it's a little less than appropriate:

"i like my body when it is with your body"

That doesn't have nearly enough line breaks to be ee.

I can pull out the smutty Whitman if you like, H. Or some Ginsberg:

Pull my daisy
tip my cup
all my doors are open . . . .

Milk my mind
and make me cream.
Drink me when you're ready.

I try and do some Spinal Tap poetry, and all you have is Yick? Actually, it's pretty sad when one considers Spinal Tap 'poetry' in the same thread where Walt Whitman is being posted nonstop....now Ginsberg, though I've never heard of him, seems to be more up my alley. Please pardon the pun...
