Aww, y'all make it hard to turn third-guess my impulses! I've been a tornado around the house, trying to get it all spotless and everything put away so it's all set for the fall semester and I think, along with that I can get enough work done (barring another propositioning of Stewart thread) and leave enuf $ for Papa Cat to bargain shop courtesy of fatwallet to forgive myself for being completely freaking outta control here...

Haven't plunked down for the arrangements yet, but it's looking 80% currently...now, to tackle the laundry mountain!

Enough work will be done, the house will be cleaned enough, and enough food will be prepared in advance for PapaCat for me to leave tomorrow in good conscience...all my travel arrangements have been made and I am making ticket arrangements now...seeing how the fall shows aren't going to shake out for me and PapaCat has been more than patient and sweet (even enabling) of my Police Summer 2007 mania and being left here to fend for himself (he turns a bit feral when I am gone for more than a day or two), I'd better consider this (and the London/Amsterdam caper) my last blast!!! Fall is looking to me to be turning out to be a real biatch and it's gonna take everything I gots (dusts off SuperCat cape)...<grin>

I'll will be arriving the morning of the first and although I'm not sure if I will be at the 8/3 show (may be at Squeeze or They Might Be Giants...can't remember who's playing that night)...the NY ticket market is truly sui generis and people on StubHub are on crack (this is the only market I've seen where people keep jacking up the prices on tickets that aren't selling as the concert date and selling cut-off get closer)! I'll pull out a handy blanket expression I learned years ago: "only in New York" <grin> I'm lining up a ticket in sec. 333 for 8/1 and scored a row 9 for Giant's Stadium (far Sting's side) for a song so I know those two nights are a go!

btw... anyone who ordered shirts:

i will have them with me, they cost me $8 each, so let's save the shipping costs and i'll bring them with me.

if anyone does NOT want me to bring them, please let me know. they do make for great group photos though, so if you can bear to carry it or just stow it before the show, that would be a bonus.

Squeeze are playing at the Beacon that night. Although TMBG seem to always be playing somewhere in NYC, so they might be as well.

But can you REALLY be in the same town as Stewart, Andy, and Sting and NOT grace them with your presence, Miss Kitty?

I'll be at the Friday show, just not sure of my pre-show plans yet. I dont post here as much anymore but I read every damn thing you people write. Where do you get the time to post and do they sell this time in a store anywhere? :lol:

Have to check where my tiks are but would love to see the famous flag up close and personal!

I know, I know...probably not likely, but after plunking down for a tic to MSG1 and floor for Giants I'm starting to panic with what remains of my "nyc budget" even after booking at into a pretty cheap hostel...<giggle>...we'll see!
