Sending good thoughts to Ian's family. STEWART: I'm sure he's with you tonight and every night on this tour. And I am sure he is proud of you.

Yes, I was feeling a bit down this morning. I can't believe it's been two years!

BUT, I got an email from a good friend (and HUGE Police fan) a little later this morning and he and his wife had a baby girl shortly after midnight. So May 23 now has a positive notation on my calendar too.
I could be replaced by any bright spark.

And also take a moment to honor Ian's military service during this Memorial Day weekend along with that rum and Diet Coke. And if you haven't already done so, you've got to check out the Dare's first single "Love Me When I Leave" at http://www.myspace.com/thedares. If that song doesn't become a hit, it will be an injustice. Ian's divining rod-like ears were right on again!!!
Well, everyone has said it already on this post. I read "Wild Thing"before this Tour was a twinkle in Sting's eye, and the strong love Ian had for his family came thru in different parts of Ian's writings. If any of y'all have specific folks to remeber this Memorial Day, maybe add Ian Copeland to that. Ian's IRS group was directly responsible for running a slew of great bands during '81-'83 thru the Blacksburg VA/VA Tech market ('Wave Night Wednesdays at After Sundown, whoo-hoo!!!). We got to see English Beat, REM, Gene Loves Jezebel, etc....at our local venue due to that SouthEastern college touring strategy he used. He probaly would've had a BLAST with this Tour......
Thanks to the Melanoma walk folks. If there is a posatl address to send contributions to, please 'Post' on this Forum sometime.
...and cheers, Ian! Gone too soon, but not forgotten. Thoughts and prayers go out to the Copeland family as well.
