[quote="Divemistress of the Dark"]Hmmmmmmm. If it were just me, yeah, honestly, I'd probably go.

But I'd have to add in the cost of the divorce paperwork and settlement, which might make things prohibitively expensive...

Ha! WORD.
To be truly radical is to make hope possible, rather than despair convincing.

The part about being old enough to wear sensible shoes was funny. Indeed! And being old enough to not rely on your parents to buy your tickets. Instead, being able to take your mom. And then making sure she wears sensible shoes. :D

A breath of fresh sanity: http://tr.im/lczJ

Headline: NME thinks The Police are reuniting…

[quote]
Oh, NME! We almost love you enough to take you seriously. When they’re not bullshitting their average readers, they’re…bullshitting their average readers. . . .

While promoting his recent soundtrack for the upcoming stage show, Ben Hur Live, drummer Stewart Copeland commented on the recent reunion with The Police, which came to an end last August, and jokingly suggested, “I’d recommend that every artist should do it every 20 years. So call me in 20 years.”

Oh yeah, a seventy-five year old Copeland hitting drums to “Message in the Bottle”, not to mention Andy Summers on guitar (who’d be pushing ninety by then) — that’s gonna happen. It’s called sarcasm, it’s called a joke. It’s not called news.

Though to be fair, NME isn’t all to blame. The story did originally come from BBC News, who sported the tamer, more realistic headline, “Police star hints of more to come.” Still, it’s all misleading, and one hell of an example in speculative journalism. Shame on you, BBC. . . . .

Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.
