Sorry, kimmy -- totally missed this before.

Not pathetic in the least! You're getting the flag to Cardiff, and going out of your way doing it. You're doing *quite* a bit.

Yo, North and South American Flag-Bearers!

You are about to get lots and lots of email.

Read it.
Commit it to memory.
Burn the evidence.

Thank you,

DM, words cannot describe the depth of my admiration for your organizational skills - all I can say is, "WOW!!!!" I just read through all your emails. In fact, a nosy co-worker just sidled me and said, "What does the first law of the flag is flag survival mean?"

I told her to stop acting like an asshat (in my head, of course).

Actually, I told her to buzz off and stop reading people's personal emails over their shoulders. See, DM you've inspired me to not take others' asshattery lying down.

Man, I can't wait for this show!!!!!!! Thanks again woman! You ROCK!

And how! Kimmy is taking time off work, driving to another city, then hauling it down to Cardiff. ( I know it doesn't look far on a map if you're north american, but trust me, it involves the M6 motorway, and the woman is therefore, by default, a saint). Saved the flags ass after I dropped it. :-) AND she'll probably be doing so in full regalia - right kimmy?

(Did I just mix a metaphor horribly there?).

Hey smudge.....

Thanks, but actually I'm letting the train take the strain!!!

Sitting on my backside for a few hours..... pick the flag up.... look at a few shops..... sit on my backside....... Yep

And it's one of my day's off...... so what would I be doing? washing..... ironing....... food shopping.....

I tell you collecting the flag is really no problem!!!

But thanks smudge!!!

Hey, folks.

Just a quick reminder to everyone to please not let anyone -- not even Zeus Himself -- sign the Flag with anything other than the pens that have been provided. The pens that accompany the flag were chosen specifically because they will not ruin it. It is up to all of you fine folks -- both Flag-Bearers and Flag-Signers alike -- to make sure that it stays that way.

The European leg ends soon -- and North and South Americas are coming up fast. Have a great time, everyone!

Thank you,
Mission Control

HI Drummer DaveF,

While tempted to say "I asked Mom first!", I will only say that you didn't miss this by a couple days.

I asked to carry the flag in Welly (and have pretty damn good seats myself) in July, and am travelling from LA for both NZ shows. I am serving my flag bymuling it thru the UK a bit and then back to the US in order to let others more deserving than myself carry the flag at several gigs- and happily so because I knew/know that I'm getting my turn in NZ!

So, DM could hardly say no to anyone (she's just that kind of Flag Momma) but she did already promise me ages ago, and enslave me into service.

I think we posted elsewhere, and will do so closer to the date, that we WILL have a flag signing/drinking get-together before the shows in both Welly and Auckland.
I didn't get my ticket to Auckland for myself(friend did), so I don't know my exact location. If by some ungodly likelihood it is better than my Welly seat, we can talk, k?

I am not an unreasonable woman. But it's my turn!

PS If it makes you feel any better I am flying 8000 miles and sitting in row 7 for Cardiff and 3 for Wembley. And not the flag bearer(though I am a flag bearer supporter).

Some Flag Schedule tweaks as JSchoel483 takes over for the first Atlanta show and the Washington, DC hand-off gets slightly less complicated.

I'll start to deal with Oceania arrangements soon, so AU/NZ folks please keep an eye on your inboxes.

Thanks, everyone!
