I would die also, Dive - but the original line-up should be just as good because this was most unlikely a year or so ago. I'll report back later on in the year!

Not really. The venue will sell out pretty damn fast.

Saw them at the same venue during their There is Nothing Left to Lose tour. I was like ten years younger and still felt waaayy too old for the crowd. It was actually the least enjoyable time that I saw the Foos, and I have seen them a considerable number of times.

Gladys Knight was fantastic. Seriously. It was well worth coming out to LI a couple days early just to catch the tour, which is playing Nashville on August 7 - a night I have a little bit of a conflict.

She's well into her 60s but has obviously been performing consistently for decades, as her voice is still incredibly powerful and seemingly with its full range. She played a couple of Lena Horne and Ella Fitzgerald songs, as well as rousing renditions of both "Best of a Bad Situation" and "Neither One of Us". I left a little early to beat the traffic out of the lot, so I don't know what the encore was...may Google a little later.

WOW. I'm still a little shocked at how good she was. Reminded me of Tina Turner a little.

The venue itself - Capital 1 Theater in Westbury - had great acoustics and was way cool, featuring a rotating stage in the round. The crowd was really diverse, age and ethnicity wise. I had a great time talking to a woman from Trinidad and her friend.

Loved it. The real surprise, though, was show opener Peabo Bryson - who's been famous for a cavalcade of 70s hits on the radio for years now. Also a really wonderful performer. Helped that his third song was a cover of "Set Them Free." He later did a version of Sade's "King of Sorrow" that brought down the house, as well as a few of his own songs.

If you're a soul fan, check this one out. Nothing like seeing vocalists who've been performing for decades and can demonstrate how it ought to be done.

I saw Eddie Izzard on Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm was originally just going to the Tuesday show but I'm so glad I changed my mind and went to both because Wednesday's show was so much better.

I love Eddie.

Saw Crowded House in D.C. at the 9:30 Club in early May with my wife. Absolutely fantastic show !!! Neil Finn is a genius. They are a band I'd travel literally anywhere to see.

I'd also go to see Beck in NYC in October, but we'll be at the beach in the Florida panhandle.

Just got back from Dublin, Ohio and the Dublin Irish Festival. Gaelic Storm were the headliners. And it was an awesome show. I had front row. And one of the band members ended up wearing LSB's hat. Good times!

I have been a bit too pissed to talk about this, but it's time to vent. Tuesday I got off work at 5pm and met my mother at my house. We left at 5:20 to drive to VA Beach to see Cheap Trick, Heart and Journey, usually a 40-45 minute drive. Well, it took us over 2 and a half hours to get there because of traffic on the tunnel and just plain because I think everyone in the metro area was going to this concert, which started at 7PM. Needless to say, if you add it up, you'll see that we completely missed Cheap Trick's set and probably the first song of Heart.

Why am I upset? Because my order of viewing preference was 1) Cheap Trick 2) Heart 3) (meh) Journey.

WHY on earth would you start a concert at 7pm when you have three major acts on the bill?? 7pm is for when you have no name openers so people have time to get home from work and drive to the venue, which has the worst entrance ever. Do they think that the only people attending the show live within a 5 mile radius?

Not only am I pissed for missing Cheap Trick, I'm pissed for them because half the audience was still in the parking lot and beyond during their set. I'm sorry, but in my book, Cheap Trick would have the coveted Headliner spot and Journey would be the opener. Don't get me wrong, once Journey came on with their new dead ringer for Steve Perry singer, I really did enjoy them, but they just don't rock like Cheap Trick, who I've yet to see live. grrrr.

When we finally did make it in, we made our way to the lawn seats and good googly moogly, the place was packed. I don't think I've ever seen this amphitheater sold out before. It was a solid blanket of people. Pretty amazing site on its own.

Well, Heart rocked their asses off and made a girl want to cry when they did an amazing cover of The Who's "Love Reign O'er Me". Good lord. I was standing out near the restrooms trying to find my friend when this song started and I had to run back into the venue because I would have sworn Roger Daltrey was up on stage singing. Ann was that good.

Well, so, I'm still heartbroken over missing CT, but I had a good time and so did my 75 year old mother. Bless her heart, she made it up the lawn steps and the hill and rocked her little socks off.

Okay, I'm going to take a breath and release this cloud overhead. Maybe I'll get a chance to see CT again someday.

See my order is totally opposite of yours- that show came around here a few weekends ago and we were dying to find a babysitter- I'd to see Journey with their new Steve Perry impersonator! And the Wilson sisters too!!

Foreigner played the pavilion the night before the CT/H/J show and I heard they had major troubles selling tickets (maybe cause Bryan Adams was on the bill?).

Going to see DMB tomorrow night- it's "our band" for the wife and I, this will make the 5th show for us and the 1st time we actually got seats. We always just got the lawn tickets but after last year's show we figured from now on we'll pony up for closer seats. Scored lower level about 20 rows to the stage on our first time in their fan club lottery presale (the warehouse). Can't wait!
