Who wants to watch a pissed off young diva open for three manufactured pop stars who she clearly thinks she's better than?
If you have to see a young diva, I think it might be more interesting to see her pissed off. Maybe it's just me.
Very good point! But having two teen-aged daughters who act liked pissed off divas a lot of the time, I get that show for free a couple times a week.

Fiction Plane just gets better and better every time I see them.

I'm fairly certain I was the lone person there to see them tonight at the Unity Tour show with Snoop Dogg and 311 (and man, was I feeling my age looking around at the crowd...) But I did my best to pimp them hard before they hit the stage, especially to a photographer/reporter from Baltimore who was up at the barricade next to me. Hopefully they'll get some exposure out of it. Being the sole person at the barricade in a FP t-shirt and rocking out to all their stuff got a smile out of Seton, too :D

Their set was only about 30 minutes but it was rocking HARD. They had it ramped up and by the time they got to Cigarette I think they were doing a good job of warming the crowd over to them. I was thrilled they did Sadr City Blues and they also played a new song tonight I'd never heard before - but if it's a taste of what we might get on their next album, oh man...I can't wait!

Pete was blasting - broken stick splinters flying and again, he really has just gotten better and better, more creative and loose in his playing instead of sounding like just another "alt-rock drummer".

I really, really love these guys. Now I'm just tired of seeing them in short opening sets and want a full show!!!

I just went to two great concerts. I went to see the Guess Who three nights ago. The presence of Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman, I feel, was really lacking, but the band was tight. The concert was in Boston and it was completely free. The turn out was great. The majority of the audience seemed to be there just for nostalgia's sake, and the band delivered a good mix of songs. Also, I got to witness the highly amusing sight of my (usually conservative) mother attempting to relive her "wild" days of youth by climbing onto my uncle's shoulders and dancing to the music.

Also, two nights ago, I went to see Brian Wilson play. What a great experience. Each member of the band held their own, filling out the songs with harmonies and nuances, effectively recreating studio tracks. Brian, though, was amazing. He just sat up front, almost emotionless, in his own world, and nailed his parts. Personal life aside, he's a brilliant musician, songwriter, and arranger. I was highly impressed.

I'll tell ya... that gig at Seacrets in OCMD is where I'd like to be.

It's really too bad that we have to miss that.

I attended the Alison Krauss/Robert Plant with T-Bone Burnett...Raising Sand tour date at The Mann Center in Philly this past Saturday. Excellent show...Krauss's & Plant's voices were in top form and the band was one of the best I've seen...the live show was far better than the album...it was a pretty amazing performance.

Also they did several Led Zep tunes...Black Dog, In The Mood are the only 2 that come to mind...interesting musical arrangements...slowed down and very sultry...it was a riot to watch Plant pick up the microphone/stand and start to swing it back into his trademark movements, only to shift gear into very slow motion (can't take the rocker out of the man).

I don't think there are many dates left on the tour, but if you get a chance to catch a show, I'd highly recommend it.

PS...The opening act was a young lady by the name of Sharon Little [from the North Wales (Philly), PA area]...very good...I overheard quite a few people chatting post-show, saying they thought she was better than AK/RP (she was good, but I don't agree she was better)...here's link to her website. http://www.sharonlittle.com/

My friend from Vermont was absolutely gutted when Belew cancelled his Vermont show recently. No known reason.

I have watched Steve Winwood in the Mile High concert from Denver online feed today: what a treat! Amazing.
I'm so going to go to San Diego in August if things are OK by then!

Colorado is red-hot these days...in every sense of the word!

I was at the Foo Fighters concert earlier this evening in Indy with Kiki, Lady Starblade & a friend of mine from work. It was a good concert & the fieldhouse was almost completely full. Dave is a great frontman & Taylor is all over the drums & gives it his all. I was only able to take a few pics because there was very little light on stage which made picture taking very challenging. http://www.flickr.com/photos/17678487@N ... 343872819/
