The Oscar is all politics. All fake. They gave the Oscar to Randy Newman because he had won as many as the Red Sox had won the World Series while being in it....
All these prizes (Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, Tony, Nick, Johnny) are just Marketing.
The Oscars lost me forever when Pulp Fiction lost to [burp] Forrest Gump.
The Grammys lost me forever when they awarded Jethro Tull a Grammy for Best Heavy Metal Band (remember Lars Ulrich the next year: We Thank Jethro Tull for not having put out an album this year!)
The Emmies are still OK because they gave 2 to Hugh Laurie, the Man I love almost as much as SC. [I said ALMOST].

Kaly - Did you see any Jeeves and Wooster on PBS? Loved them. Hugh Laurie is so multi-faceted.

If we're making 'soon to be deleted' confessions I'd like to confess I own the soundtrack album to the movie 'White Nights' which has a Phil Collins song AND a Lionel Ritchie song.

It also has a Lou Reed song. I don't think you could find another album with those three together.

I think that Hugh is a good actor. Black Adder is pretty good. But it's tough watching House because I find it just so preposterous. But maybe it's just because I'm a guy. I watch Las Vegas, which is probably even more preposterous. Yet strangely I am able to overlook all that because of Molly Sims and that girl who plays the casino hostess and that Nikki whatever her name is. So I guess that explains to me House for women.

Oh yeah? AND LV is not preposterous?
First I AM the female version of Dr. House. 8)
I have met physicians like Dr. House. Nothing preposterous in that profession. Drug addicts and alcoholic abund. There is an incredible amount of pressure there. He is a tremendous actor because he has a great range, from pure silly comedy to dramatic characters. And he is the greatest person! A dream come true.

In short: Do Not Mess With Hugh Laurie!

I ADMITTED that LV is preposterous. By point was wathcing a hottie strut about on the screen can make you overlook that.

My dad was a doctor so I have been surrounded by doctors my whole life. And I deal with doctors on a constant basis. And I AGREE that addiction and the like is real. And I never had any qualms with Hugh's acting on the show (I agree his is probably one of the most engaging guys on TV today). It's just that the medical situations on the show rank right up there with Las Vegas regarding believeablilty (or lack there of).
