Hub is watching a Michel Gondry video, so I suppose I'm listening to that (it's Chemical Brothers playing "Star Guitar"...the video for which is cool as all hell.)
Yesterday I listened to a slew of stuff on the way home from St Louis, mostly Carlos "Patato" Valdez. It's pretty classic Cuban percussion; reminded me of Stewart's work in the sense that the band plays tin cans and spoons and stuff.
National Geographic is doing a great new podcast series on world music, and I had a bunch of them backlogged so I got caught up on those. My favorite was the one on the band Antibalas (Spanish for "anti-bullets"), which is a sensational Afro-Cuban band. Their album "Who is This America" has been one of my favorites over the past few years.
Oh, and I also listened to a bunch of bad 1970s classic rock. Every now and then I just get in the mood to hear "Don't Fear the Reaper."
