Yeah go for two, after driving up you should see what Dallas has to offer. If you don't think you would, then go for one.

Gina, check your email...

My one regret is that we won't have THE FLAG in Dallas! Of course, there are only so many places it can travel, but it will be missed.

Choose your grub!

There's also another gathering of fans at El Fenix which is only a couple of blocks away from the AA Center and located on Field street and Woodall Rogers Freeway. Right now I have about 12 people showing up. If you want some Tex-Mex, reply here and I'll add you to the party number.

Getting to the AA Center is easy. It's a lot easier from the freeway than anything. Woodall Rogers freeway is connected to I-35, 75 Central/I-45 overheads. Simply exit Field street from either direction off of Woodall Rogers, and then head north. You'll see El Fenix to your right, apartments to your left, and then the AA Center. There's all kinds of parking.

Things to do...there's the above mentioned. Good Records is located on lower Greenville just north of Ross on the east side of Greenville, back in a hole...you might miss it.

And the heat? It's hot, but it's been very humid will all the rain we've been having. So pack a rain coat/umbrella just in case if you care. It's been feeling like Houston which is not normal. It's usually drier up here.

If you need any help, info, joining us at El Fenix, etc...just email me at.....

therealallegra@verizon.net

Hope to see some of you out there!

I need to pick up my tickets at the venue @5:30, so I don't know whether vespapod and I will be able to make that gathering. Also depends on what some other friends I'm meeting up with for the show want to do...But we'll be around somewhere!

We're flying in tomorrow late night looking forward to a great show Tuesday!

Allegra, how late can we email you? I'm taking the lappy and may show up as well...also have to see what plans pan out with a couple of other people.

I'd be up for post-show shenanigans either night as well. My flight doesn't leave till 1 PM or so Thursday...planned for a long night. ;)

It's the day after tomorow! I am so excited, yet at the same time it will be so sad when it's over.

Sockii - email me so that we can exchange phone numbers since the PMing on this board doesn't work.

We should be at El Fenix somewhere between 5 and 7pm. It's only about a ten minute walk from there. But DON'T leave your car in the restaurant parking lot unless you want it to be towed. I'm going to park in the lot nearby for the AAC first then walk to and from the restaurant.

Conroy - I'd love to join folks for an after concert gathering but I live an hour away and I need to get on home. So count me out.

DOTD - I'm usually up late and I'd like for people to know what their plans are by Monday evening. I'd like to make reservations Tuesday morning. If there's a large group, they might put us in the back room. I'll double check my email Tuesday morning before I make the call.

Remember if you want my cell number, you are going to have to email me. I won't be checking my email after 3pm Tuesday.
There are still plenty of tix on Ebay and Stubhub, Jenny....

I'm not sure what all we'll have time to do besides going to see The Police. I'm going to try to hit the Dallas School Book Repository museum and the art museum....are there any don't-miss record stores, or cool clothing stores?
I still want to know what's wrong w/walking around downtown Dallas...
I'll probably have to hit to zoo or something like that w/the kids. I plan to go to the Fiction Plane noon time gig on the 27th though.

BBQ... Conroy, should I bring you some from Sam's in Austin? That's supposedly the best around.... Not that there's a shortage of BBQ in tx.

: )

I've got a note about this in the ticket section but just in case...I've still got 4 seats for the 6/26 show up in Dallas. All seats are together but don't have to be sold together. I think Michelle was asking some friends about it but I haven't heard back...anyway, lappleby@tstar.net if you're interested.

First of all, it's called the Texas School Book Depository. Personally I've never stopped to go in there (heard it was a good tour), and the area around it is nice. It's also near the West End where there's all sorts of restaurants.

The heart of downtown Dallas is OK. It's like with any downtown. Keep your purse close and keep walking if people ask you for money. The most dangerous place right now is Deep Ellum where all the bars/music entertainment is. There have been shootings, stabbings, theft, etc. So go in with caution. If you do go there, park inside Deep Ellum where it's the most expensive to park. It's well lit, and a lot safer than walking blocks and blocks to and from your car in a cheap lot down the street to a not so lit area.

Not only take your kids to the Dallas Zoo [off of I-35 and Marsalis], but there's the Science Place at Fair Park that includes an IMAX [east of downtown, off of I-30, south on Second Ave, around the west side of the fair grounds]. Both places are less than 10 minutes from downtown. Also there's the Dallas Aquarium next to the Science Place too. Then there's the Dallas World Aquarium located in the West End area of downtown not too far from the Texas School Book Depository.

And yes, BBQ is every where. Each place is a little bit different. It's all about the sauce and beans for me. Everyone likes it different. But most places here in Texas are pretty good. If it wasn't, it would be shut down in no time. It's best to Google a BBQ place that you'll be near. You can't go wrong.

Now if y'all have a lot more time and want to experience Texas the way it used to be, hop onto the train and ride it over to downtown Fort Worth. That's where you'll find some of the best eats around and shopping too. You might even catch a cattle drive...who knows!

I just checked into my room at the Doubletree near Market center. It's a great hotel for the price I paid about 67 per night tax inclusive. They had a warm cookie for me when I checked in and free wifi internet, so I'm happy. I think I'm the first out-of-towner to arrive. I just talked to Divemistress and she has been stuck at the the airport for 5 hours because of the bad weather. The flight path of my flight from BWI was slightly diverted north to Oklahoma and back down that way because of the storms east of Dallas. It looks like I lucked out. My flight was overbooked and would have given up my seat for a $300 voucher for a later flight. I'm glad I they had the exact number of no-shows for the number of stand-by seats because I might still be stuck at BWI now.
