Hey BongoBoy! I got a chuckle out reading your comment and then seeing your name. Totally thought you were a Fiction Plane fan---the Japanese fans of Fiction Plane refer to themselves as---Bongoheads or something to that effect.
I also saw them in Luxembourg and they did quite a good job. Stings drummer stood at the side of the stage during half of their set and seemed to like their music a lot. 8)
If it was Abe Laboriel Jr, he played the drums for Fiction Plane's first studio album, before they recruited their current drummer.

I actually like Fiction Plane quite a bit, and I really can't understand some of these folks who seem to think they're not worthy of being an opening act, or that Sting probably forced Stewart and Andy to go along.

The opening act is usually an up-and-coming act that due to business or personal relationships the headline act and/or the promoter wants to help out. And surely anyone associated with The Police family (Stewart, Andy, Miles, and certainly the late great Ian) would want to do whatever they could to help out Joe Sumner.

Yes it was Abe. I didn't know he had been working for Fiction Plane - this explains his enthusiasm and commitment during their set.
An amazing drummer btw - it was pure joy to see this guy playing. I had seen him on Paul Mc Cartney DVD's and was really glad to get the chance to watch him so close-by (we stood first row).

I once saw Fiction Plane when they were still called Santa's Boyfriend. And I was lucky enough to buy their first CD with that band name. I thought that the 1st Fiction Plane wasn't as good. But still I'm excited to see them again!
