jersyfan i try to read that article but dont like to see people say bad things about my favorite band so i dont finish it even if people have own opinions i dont agree

A Police expert has confirmed:
They used the backing track of Message from the BBC Old Grey Whistle Test (UK TV show) recording which is from Miami 1979. They cleaned up the track and added over dubs at Surrey Sound for A&M. The label wanted it for inclusion as the b side for the 1980 sherrif star picture disc.

wow ... I've wondered about that for years, great work you guys.

Sting pretty much re-did all his vocals and re-recorded the bass, but you can hear it's the basic track from that gig.

ladyhawke, I think the reason they posted that review on the official Police site was for laughs. It's so over-the-top ridiculous that you can't take it seriously.
