Hello all. Just back from a week-long business trip. Thanks for the link to the Spanish & Japanese De Doo!

I saw this new Message in a Box + Book on amazon today...

Does anyone know how different it actually is?

The track listing looks more or less exactly the same , but until you hear it you never know if there is a different mix hidden away in there!

Anyone actually heard it? seen it? touched it?

Glad to see your post here again.

Take care of you

I went to look for the new Message in a Box yesterday in the local record stores.. and the big record stores... it seems it isn't out yet! At least Virgin on Oxford St didn't have it on display..

When's the release date?

Thank you very much for the Link to the Spanish and Japanes Dedododos. Sound very funny. I think, the Outtakes from Message in a Box like Low Life, I burn for you, How stupid Mr. Bates and so on makes it worthy for a real Police Fan to get this Box.

Look at the link for the new box set in the links forum. In the photo of the liner notes booklet it states "This is it" in big, bold letters. As longtime fans know, it's not it. If you faithfully collected the 45s and soundtracks with your scrounged-together, minimum-wage earnings in high school, you'd have the recordings already.

The least those who control the box set material could have done was toss in a few real gems ... and not lie with "This is it."

I don't think there is much significant material left unreleased. Message in a Box just about had it all and I am personally not very interested in further remixes or "derangements". The only thing I would like to hear is the 1986 remake of De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da. Wikipedia (search under the Police) states that this version appears on the DTS version of the Every Breath You Take: The Classics compilation. Can anyone confirm this? Has anyone heard this remake and, if so, what do you think of it?

I wonder how close he is to getting the derangements released onto cd.

De Do Do Do 86 appears on the surround version of the Greatest Hits album. But it's not a finished song, clearly not as finished as Don't 86 was...

Someone have a look at this (look at the 5th picture):

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/imag ... 16&s=music

Was this in the original?

"The Milman's Song". WTF does that mean?

"The Milman's Song" is another example of the lack of respect and attention to detail the executves who OK'd the re-release have for us longtime fans. It doesn't take the expertise of Dietmar or Giovanni to realize it's a double typo and should read "The Milkman's Son."

I wish I could fing the humor in it and respect Giovanni for doing so. To me, it's another slap in the face after decades of commitment to all things Police. I know we're all human and make mistakes, but they've had years to remedy the blatant glitches and omissions of "Message in a Box."

The message? The executives behind this holiday-ready re-release don't care about us as much as their revenue opportunity.
